fashion: summer uniform lives on

I adore fall and I am already looking forward to pumpkin everything but I am completely ok with summer sticking around for awhile longer. I love being able to walk outside without a coat (or having to put coats on the girls) and I love summer style. My summer uniform lives on in a sleeveless chambray from Wal-Mart and printed shorts from Target. This is my favorite combination this summer. It looks put together while still being super comfortable. I can definitely drink a PSL while it's still sunny and 80 degrees. Sweet summer, stay for awhile.

fashion: stripes + candy colors

Today is going to be a fun day. I'm learning something new at church again. I will be trained today on how to run the computer (lyrics + slides) for worship. I love learning how to do new things and helping at my church at the same time. I also have to do some grocery shopping to do today so this romper with my favorite necklace will be perfect for running around town. Have a great day!

fashion: dots + glitter

I'm fairly certain that yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far or at least it felt like it. I feel like my accessories get less and less the warmer the weather gets. This outfit was so comfortable for the warm weather. This top fits loosely and these shorts fit perfectly. I would have loved to be in a pool somewhere yesterday! I only have five more days of work for this school year {bittersweet} and then it's full-time summer mommy mode. I am looking forward to lots of fun with my girls this summer! Happy Thursday!

fashion: colorful shorts

When the weather gets hot, it's all about comfort and staying cool. This outfit met my warm weather criteria. These shorts are so comfortable and colorful! I plan to live in outfits similar to this one for the remainder of the spring and summer months.

funday friday

During summer vacation, everyday is funday. Julianna and I had another great day yesterday. We slept in til 8. Had breakfast together. We played outside with bubbles and then inside.

She loves to play with the pillows and blanket on the floor. She rolls around and hides. Next, she took a 2.5 hour nap. When Julianna naps, I can get so much done! I got all of the housework done and got dinner prepped. Even had time to sit down and relax!

After napping, we visited nana (my mom). We played with her wind chimes and looked at her roses. Then spent some quality girl time just talking and exploring her treasures inside. Finished up our outing with a trip to Walmart for groceries. Julianna was so well-behaved (which is rare in Walmart)! So many commented on her adorableness. She was rockin' that outfit + red bow yesterday! Yes, it was definitely funday Friday!

summer break

It's official. Summer break has officially started. Yesterday was my last teacher workday and now school's out for summer for students and teachers!

Today, tomorrow, and Friday won't be like the rest of my summer. In fact, the next 3 days will be much different. Julianna is finishing out her week at daycare so she'll be there while I'm at home. Since she'll be out until the beginning of August, I wanted to her to get in as much time with her buddies and she could. Plus, I can get a lot of stuff done around the house. Let's face it, when you have an almost 15-month old, you can't get a whole lot done around the house when they're at home or awake. It's so worth it though. I love her so much!

school's out for summer

School's out for summer... well for the kids, I still have two more days left to get my room ready for summer and to complete paperwork. Here's a note from some of my kids on the last day:

The last few days of school were fun. The students voted for our Soto Superlatives and they received their awards on Thursday afternoon.

We also had craft day on Wednesday. In my room, the kids created flower pots. Everything was made out of construction paper except for the flowers. We created the flowers using coffee filters. We colored the coffee filters with various colors and designs using markers then I dropped a few drops of water on each filter. It makes such a fun, tye-dye like design. Then we cut out a flower shape. They turned out great!
