Hey y'all! Last week, I shared six ways to style polka dot pantsso today I wanted to share how I actually wore them this past Saturday for a day out with my family!
For Saturday's look, I combined two of the ideas from my post. I went with the look where I winterized the polka dot pants with heeled mules and a black long sleeve turtleneck tee. But, since it was pretty chilly that day I needed another layer so I added on the denim jacket from my mom uniform look (which I still plan to recreate that look ASAP, too). I loved this combination! The denim jacket gave the look a casual feel and it helped keep me warm while we took the girls to Lebauer Park in downtown Greensboro. I literally felt like I was wearing pajama pants! Who doesn't love to feel like they are wearing their jammies while still looking put together?! I just think that's the best. I will never not love being comfortable and stylish at the same time.
For sizing reference, I'm wearing the size small in this pants and I found the fit to be true to size. I'm also 5'5" and the length was great, with or without heels for me.
Thank you so much for visiting! I hope you have a great day!
Happy Wednesday! I hope you're having a great week so far! Today, I'm sharing my weekly Instagram Roundup, including the outfits I wore last week plus my Target run(s).
My first Target run of this post was a trip to pick up these polka dot pants that I am currently loving! They are true to size and can be styled so many fun ways for winter and spring. I also picked up the cutest mini cake stand in the dollar section. I'm planning to use it as a candle holder in my kitchen!
A utility jacket is definitely a closet staple. I find myself wearing mine during the fall, winter, and spring. It's a fun alternative to a denim jacket!
This outfit from my six ways to style polka dot pants blog post was the crowd favorite! It's an easy, casual way to wear polka dots. I will be wearing this exact look soon!
If you watch my Instagram stories then you know that Les Mills Body Pump is my favorite workout. It's such a great combination of cardio and strength training. I go to Body Pump three times a week at my local YMCA and I also try to squeeze in at least once cycle class a week too.
My favorite kind of mom uniform... a cozy oversized sweater, leggings, and sneakers. It just doesn't get more comfortable than this for mom life!
Target run! I always love seeing what others are picking up at Target. This cleaning spray smells just like Capri Blue from Anthropologie and it's under $2! The hairbrush is the life changing one from this blog post on Monday. It's a must have!
Hey y'all and Happy Monday! I originally named this post the best hairbrush for the tender headed but honestly, it's just the best hairbrush for everyone! I do not think I have ever felt so passionately about a hairbrush but this one has literally changed my life. I know that sounds silly but really, it's true! For many years I have used this hairbrush on my hair and my girls' hair:
Well, it was time for a new brush and I went into CVS with every intention of purchasing the same exact brush that I always buy. I have also liked this one because it was good at getting tangles out. However, my oldest daughter, who is incredibly tender headed, still would cry when I brushed her hair. Even with extra conditioning after I shampooed her hair, even with leave-in conditioner, even with detangler, and even when she had zero tangles, she would be miserable every single time I brushed her hair. She has always been this way so I just assumed that no matter what I did, she would always dislike having her hair brushed.
CVS was completely out of the hairbrush that I usually buy so on a whim I just decided to grab a different style of brush by the same brand because I didn't feel like going anywhere else to hunt down a hairbrush. Taking my wild children into one store was enough for me so I grabbed this one:
I didn't try it out until the next morning but when I did, I was so impressed! I took my hair down from a bun to brush it and apply more dry shampoo. I couldn't believe how easily it glided through my tangle filled post-bun, messy hair. Also, it left my hair looking so shiny, just as it said it would. It is also really great for evenly distributing dry shampoo into your hair.
But, the big test was see how this brush worked on my girls' hair! Y'all. In the past eight years, there has very rarely been a time when I brushed Julianna's hair (her hair is super thick and long) and she didn't cry, scream, or yell, no matter how slow or gently I brushed it. She didn't make a sound when I brushed her hair with this brush! Not a sound. Not a peep. When I say this brush has changed my life, I mean it. Our mornings are typically so stressful when it comes to getting hair done but we had our first tear free morning in so long! Olivia's hair is super fine and tangles super easily but this brush glided through her hair so easily and got rid of the tangles without fighting with them.
The difference in this brush and the one I have used forever is that this one also has premium natural boar bristles, along with the IntelliFlex bristles that I am used to. The boar bristles really make such a huge difference! I also used this brush for blow drying my hair and it worked great. I also feel like I've had so much less breakage since switching brushes.
Such a game changer for us! No more dreading hair brushing time.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Here's to happy hair days!
Happy Friday! I hope y'all have had a great week! I've had a good week but an exhausting one. My husband had to travel out of state for work this week and sometimes I don't realize just how much he does around the house until he's not here to do it! I will be very happy to have him back home today and so will the girls. It just isn't the same around here without him!
Today, I'm sharing my weekly roundup of what I'm currently loving. Y'all, I'm not even sure what season it is. I feel like it's been a combination of almost every single season just this week here in North Carolina. We've had bitter winter at the beginning of the week, a mild fall and rainy spring. Layers is just the answer right now because you just never know what season we might be doing! It literally changes every single day around here!
Which of this week's picks is your favorite?!
1. H E E L S | Pink heels just make every outfit more fun. I have a pink pair of heels already but I am really loving this option. This shade of pink is so pretty!
2. H E A D B A N D | This headband was an impulse purchase of mine this week. My search for cushion covers lead me to H&M (I had no idea they sold home decor items). This adorable and budget friendly leopard headband just kind of leaped into my shopping cart!
3. P A N T S | I shared six ways to style these around $23 pants here on the blog this week in this post. I just think they are the most fun pant to wear now and later! The fit is true to size.
4. S W E A T E R | How many cream sweaters is too many?! I think I already have three but I love this one for wearing into spring. It's such a classic, closet staple!
5. T O P | I love the colors of this top! It's such a cute top that's perfect for your everyday mom uniform. I would pair this with a pair of skinny jeans, sneakers, and a baseball cap!
6. J A C K E T | The one kind of denim jacket that is missing from my closet is a boyfriend denim jacket! I love this slightly distressed option. Adding to my closet ASAP!
7. R I N G | I already own and love this ring. I love how it simply makes a statement! It comes in rose gold, silver, and yellow gold.
8. T O T E | Like I said last week, sometimes I share items again here for what I'm currently loving because when I own it and love it, I want to let y'all know! This bag was featured a few months ago and I absolutely love it. It even made my top five purchases for 2018! See all of my favorite buys from last year in this post.
Thank you so much for visiting! I hope you have a great weekend!
Hey y'all! Today, I'm sharing my top five favorite purchases from 2018 that I still use and love. 2018 was a much different year for me as far as shopping goes. I probably bought half as many items in 2018 than I did in 2017. My mindset on shopping just completely changed. I stopped buying things for the sake of buying things (which can be extra difficult when you are a style blogger of any sort). I also focused more on quality than quantity. I evaluated my closet to create a solid base of basics. I can expand more about that in a future post because it was definitely a process and one that I am really glad I went through. I'll always love style and shopping but having a closet that doesn't overwhelm me is incredibly refreshing!
I would definitely say this is my most used purchase of 2018! I have been wanting a real leather black tote for years but just kept buying faux leather ones that I consistently needed to replace. I'm the girl who used to have 20-30+ purchases and now I have maybe six. I found that investing in classic, high quality bags was the way to go for me. This Madewell tote has become my most favorite bag and I carry it pretty much every single day. It's big enough for my laptop but not bulky or too big. You just can't go wrong with a classic black leather tote!
These mules are definitely my go-to shoe in my closet! I bought my first pair of Madewell mules last year and loved them. Well, this leopard pair is even more comfortable, like bedroom slipper comfortable. The perfect throw on and go kind of shoe when you are running out of the door. I'm typically always a 8.5 in shoes but I sized up a half size in these mules for the best fit.
I shared more about this amazing key ring in one of your favorite posts from last year, How I Organize My Purseand it's definitely one of my favorite everyday items. It's amazing how life changing a key ring can be but I can always find my keys now, even when they are at the bottom of my tote bag. I love these key rings so much that I've now gifted one to my mom for Christmas and my friend for her birthday! It's a must have!
I have been living in Everlane denim since I got my first pair a few months ago. They are by far the best fitting high rise skinny jeans that I have ever found at this price point! The fit is amazing and so is the quality. They don't stretch out or sag with wear. They look just as good when you take them off twelve hours later as they did when you put them on! I own the dark wash and the black because they are that good. I find the fit to be true to size. Yes to an eleven inch rise!
I have been a fan of Kendra Scott jewels for years and I have recently really been loving hoop earrings. During my birthday month, I knew I wanted a pair of Kendra Scott earrings since I didn't own any and I got this pair for 50% off! Did you know that you can get any piece of Kendra Scott jewelry for 50% off during your birthday month in store?! I also grab a piece for half off during my husband's birthday month. All you need to do is show them your ID! I have worn these earring almost daily and they aren't too heavy. I have super sensitive ears and these don't both me at all. I love them!
Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you have a great day!
