Currently Loving .159

Happy Friday! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! I came to the dinner table prepared in my stretchy pants. We hosted Thanksgiving at our house and I think we will be eating delicious leftovers for many days to come. I'm not really planning to do any crazy Black Friday shopping in stores today (because it gives me anxiety) but I might pop into a couple of my favorite stores to pick up some gifts. I do about 95% of my Christmas shopping online, from the comfort of my couch!

Today, I'm sharing my weekly roundup of what I'm Currently Loving! This week's picks are filled with some of my favorite cozy finds and pieces to love all fall/winter long. I can't get enough leggings and cardigans this time of year!
Which of this week's picks is your favorite?!

1. L E O P A R D  C A R D I G A N | How fun is this cardigan?! Y'all know that I can't resist leopard print! I love the colors in this one from Bohoblu. It's such a great layering piece and would work great with a cami, turtleneck, or tee layered underneath. I love it!

2. R I N G S | I love dainty jewelry and this stacking rings are so fun. I love the mixed metals and the price tag! Plus they are currently on sale for an additional 30% off.

3. T O P | I bought this top last week and it's officially my festive piece of the season! It has such a flattering shape and the prettiest subtle rose gold metallic dots. I've already worn it with skinny jeans, leopard boots, and a black moto jacket! The fit is true to size.

4.  S W E A T S H I R T | I absolutely love these sweatshirts! They are leggings friendly (which is essential when it comes to sweatshirts for me) and so cozy. It comes in lots of great colors but I am really loving this one!

5. C A R D I G A N | This cardigan is just as soft as it looks (maybe softer)! It comes in two great colors and is the perfect cardigan to wear all season long. I just got the oatmeal one and I know it's going to be on repeat for me!

6. L E G G I N G S | Leggings are essential for me this time of year. From weekend wear to gym fashion, I live in them! I love this pair and the subtle animal print. So cute!

7. B O O T S | I just got these boots after having them on my wish list for what seems like forever! They are amazing quality and currently on sale for 30% off. A closet staple!

8. J E A N S | I also recently added these jeans to my closet after hunting for the perfect straight leg denim. I love the flattering fit of this pair! I found the fit to be true to my Madewell size, which is one size down from my regular size in jeans.

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you have a great weekend!

Asheville Weekend Getaway

Happy Thanksgiving! Today, I'm sharing a recap of our weekend getaway to Asheville, North Carolina because one of the things I am most thankful for this year is all of the amazing experiences. Our family finds so much value in traveling, new adventures, and exciting experiences that we can enjoy together! We do very few gifts for Christmas and focus more on experiences throughout the year instead. My children may never remember the toys that were under the tree but they always remember the moments that we get to spend together!

Our Asheville getaway, however, was just for Josh and I. We don't get enough time, just the two of us, so we used my birthday as the perfect reason to get away and celebrate! We had the best weekend reconnecting, laughing, and just having fun together. We chose to spend our weekend in Asheville because it's one of my favorite cities in North Carolina!

Omni Grove Park Inn | This was the first time we have ever stayed here and I was super excited because it's been on my list of places to stay at for quite some time. We visited and just walked around a couple of years ago so staying here was even better! We always book work and personal travel through Expedia so we cashed in some points to get book this weekend there. I highly recommend using Expedia to book your trip to the Omni Grove Park Inn because we were given a free upgrade when we checked in! We had a beautiful mountain view from our cozy, comfortable room! Everything about this place is absolutely charming and I loved that it was decorated for Christmas while we were there. My absolute favorite thing is to enjoy a drink in a rocking chair in front of the giant fireplace. It's such a fun, relaxing experience! Overall, we really loved staying here and I can't wait to go back again!

Nine Mile | We had been to this Caribbean inspired restaurant before and had to go back on this tip. The food is delicious and they have such unique items!

Biscuit Head | This place had a giant line! It was a little chilly outside so the outdoor tables were open so we opted to skip the line and sit outside. Otherwise it would have been an hour wait! The food is worth it, though. Everything we had was so good! They also had a fun jam bar to try out new flavors for your biscuits. You won't be disappointed at Biscuit Head!

White Duck Taco Shop | We are always on the hunt for good tacos and we found some amazing ones at White Duck Taco Shop. So many unique flavor combinations that they are regularly changing out. I highly recommend this place! Such great prices, too.

Early Girl Eatery | On our last morning, we stopped at Early Girl Eatery for breakfast. We shared the Porky Breakfast Bowl and house granola with yogurt. It was delicious and so filling!

Asheville is overflowing with breweries. We went to so many and we really loved them all!

River Arts District | We spent some time exploring the River Arts District to take in all of the incredible art in the area. Art is everywhere in this section of Asheville! We also got to see glass being blown, which was really cool. This area is a must see!

Downtown Asheville | On Saturday, we spent most of the day exploring downtown Asheville. There are so many breweries, restaurants, and shops downtown. One of our favorite stop was to Double D's Coffee and Desserts for a mid-afternoon latte. This shop is located inside of an old double decker bus! It's such a fun little top. Note: they only accept cash for payment.

Craggy Gardens | This is a beautiful trail and a really easy walk that's just right outside of Asheville. There was even snow on the ground and the weather was just perfect! We need to come back during the springtime, when the flowers are in bloom. There is another hike right off of this one but it's much longer and we didn't come prepared for a long hike. But if you love hiking, definitely check out the other trails that are in this area.

Mount Mitchell | Our last stop in the area was to visit Mount Mitchell, which is highest peak of the Appalachian Mountains and the highest peak in mainland eastern North America. You can drive most of the way up to the top and then it's a short hike to the peak. Such a beautiful view!

Instagram Roundup .190

Happy Wednesday! Thanksgiving break has officially started for me so I'll be spending the day getting my workout in, picking up groceries (because Walmart grocery pickup is pretty much the best thing that every happened to me, lol), and getting the house ready for tomorrow. Thanksgiving looks a little different for us this year so I'll be hosting my part of my family for dinner. I'm looking forward to the family time, sweet potato casserole, and of course, the pumpkin pie!

Today, I'm sharing my weekly Instagram Roundup, including some style inspiration. I live in jeans pretty much every single day of the week, especially the weekend! If I'm not in jeans then I'm definitely in leggings this time of year. I'm pretty sure my leggings are going to be a necessity all day tomorrow while I'm cooking and eating!

This was one of the outfits I wore on our weekend getaway to Asheville. This jacket is such a great budget friendly find and it's super warm! I'll be sharing more about our trip tomorrow here on the blog. We had such great time!

I have this thing with floors. If I could change out my kitchen floors, I would definitely go with something similar to this. I love it!

Hair and Beauty Bag

beauty favorites, beauty on a budget, hairstyle ideas, brunette hair color, style on a budget, north carolina blogger
Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is off to a great start! Today, I'm sharing my my latest cut and color plus what's on current rotation in my beauty bag. I have to get my hair colored on about an every six to seven weeks or so because I've had some gray hair since I was 18. Not fun and it seems like I have even more gray hair every time. I'm all about appreciating that aging is an honor but I just like to color my hair. I'm not ready to commit to gray! I really enjoy the hair coloring process and it's fun to add in my new colors every once in awhile. My hair is naturally pretty dark so I've decided to continue to embrace the dark hair. Dark hair is definitely here to stay but I do love adding in a few light pieces to break up the dark color. My cut is long bob with some layers. I just get the ends trimmed because I am currently still letting it grow out. It's grown so much in the last year!

My stylist curled it with a 1.25 inch curling iron. To achieve this style she used Kenra Dry Texture Spray and the Kenra Working Spray. They also smell so good on top of working so well! I wish Kahli could come to my house and style my hair for me every day so that it could look this good all of the time! She's the best! I have learned so much about styling my hair from her. My stylist is Kahli at Renew and she's been doing my hair for over nine years! If you decide to let her work her magic on your hair, be sure to let her know that I sent you over!

You can also read more about my hair care routine and how I go four or more days without washing my hair in this blog post! I don't skip washes because I'm lazy (but that might be part of it haha), I skip washing because my hair is so much healthier and so much more manageable when I skip a few days between washes. I've also shared about a life changing hair brush in this blog post back in January. It has been a game changer for my own hair but especially my oldest daughter!

H A I R  P R O D U C T S   I' M  C U R R E N T L Y  L O V I N G:

Now, on to my beauty bag! For the most part, my beauty routine has stayed the same because when I find what works, I keep doing it. But, I feel like the most important parts of my makeup routine is definitely skincare. When I started intentionally taking better care of my skin, my makeup starting going on so much better. These products are in my current skincare lineup:

B B  C R E A M | I love this super budget friendly BB cream! It comes out white but as soon as you put it on your face, it blends into your skin tone. It comes in several shades but I personally use the shade fair because I think the shades run a little dark. I have been using this product for over a year and half and I highly recommend it! I've tried much more expensive BB and CC creams and I just keep coming back to this one!

C O N C E A L E R | I have been using for over a year and I am still absolutely loving it! Such a great concealer and worth the extra pennies! This product is a game changer! I wear the shade "light sand" but I would recommend getting color matched at an Ulta store if you're unsure about which color to get for your skin tone.

P O W D E R | I have been using a different powder for over two years and they are discontinuing it so I am hunting for a new powder. I use a layer of powder on top of my BB cream to set it for the day. I am trying this new, budget friendly option and I like it so far. I would recommend applying this powder with the foundation brush that I'm sharing at the bottom of this post. It goes on more smoothly and you can blend it so much better!

B R O N Z E R | I recently switched to this bronzer and if you haven't smelled this kind before, you need to! It smells so good! I also really love how smoothly it goes on and it gives you such a really glow. I would highly recommend it!

B L U S H | I have been loving this blush in the shade tea rose. I love it! This is such a good drugstore blush. Also, the packaging is so pretty!

H I G H L I G H T E R | I have been using this super budget friendly highlighter for over a year. This is only $4 and it lasts forever. It adds the prettiest highlight to your face!

E Y E L I N E R | I have been loving this budget friendly liquid eyeliner. I use it on my top lash line and it lasts all day long for me. I also love this eyeliner. It goes on smoothly and lasts all day long plus it's super inexpensive! I use it on my lower lash line very lightly and then I blend it in.

E Y E  S H A D O W | This eye shadow palette is definitely worth splurging on! It lasts forever and the colors are perfect. My eye shadow lasts all day when I use this!

M A S C A R A | This Cover Girl Exhibitionist mascara is probably my favorite drug store mascara find of all time! When I look for a mascara, I'm looking for one that can give me length and volume. This one does just that and does it so well!

L I P S T I C K | This is the best lipstick ever! I am usually not a fan of lipstick because I feel like it drys my lips out but this one is different. My lips feel so soft after applying plus it lasts so long. My favorite shades are "Backtalk" and "Naked." It's also long lasting!

L I P G LO S S | My lips get so dry this time of year so I was looking for a product that would hydrate my lips plus give a little hint of color for everyday wear. I have been using this lip gloss for the past few months and I love it! Super hydrating. I have the shades radiant rose and berry brown. Both are great neutral, everyday shades!

B R O W  P E N C I L | This is a new product for me and I am so excited to have found a great brow product! It's only $2 and works just as good (if not better) as much more expensive products. I use the shade deep brown in this. I am also really love this brow product, too! I use a combo of the two of them and I love how the natural look it gives my brows and on a budget!

M A K E U P  T O O L S | I use this blender for applying my concealer, I use this foundation brush for applying my face powder, I use this brush for applying bronzer and blush, and I use this brush for applying my highlighter. Another great tip is to dampen your blender with just a little water before using it. This really helps your makeup blend much more naturally and keeps it from looking cakey. One of my favorite tricks!

M A K E U P  T O O L  C L E A N E R | Also, keeping your makeup tools clean is a super important part of your beauty routine! When I was younger, I didn't do a great job at this and my skin paid for it in breakouts. I have been using this soap to clean my blender and brushes for a few months now. I love this soap because it's make out of all natural ingredients. It comes in a bar or liquid formula and can be used for everything from cleaning your makeup brushes to your body!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Here's to good makeup and hair days! Have a great day!
