Happy Friday! I hope you are doing well! Wow... the last two weeks have been so weird. I'm just not really sure there is any other way to describe it. We have had mostly good days here but we have definitely had our emotional moments. Our family loves to be out and about. Exploring new places and try out new restaurants. So, we have had to get creative and reinvent our time together. Our dogs are definitely going to be expecting daily walks around the neighborhood as the normal routine when all of this is behind us!

Today, I'm sharing my weekly roundup of what I'm Currently Loving! I have been living in comfy pieces such as leggings and hoodies so I'm sharing some things that you can wear right now and some pieces that will be great to incorporate into your wardrobe later. Or if you're like me, you just put a normal outfit here or there just to walk to the mailbox and feel semi-normal, lol!

Which of this week's picks is your favorite?!

1. L E G G I N G S | Anyone else been living in leggings?! I am been forcing myself to try to put on jeans occasionally right now but honestly, I'd always rather be wearing leggings. I have had this pair from Everlane on my wish list for awhile now and I don't think there's any better time than time to finally grab a pair for myself.

2. S A N D A L S | I bought a super similar brand of sandals from the same brand last year and they were one of my most worn pair of sandals. I am loving this fun pair of animal print that they have this year! They are under $20 right now! I'm normally an 8.5 and the 9 fits me best.

3. S H I R T | This is another wish list item for me. A white button up is such a classic piece that will never go out of style. I'm planning to add this shirt to my closet this season!

4. T O P | I am loving this budget friendly top! The color is so pretty and it's such a feminine style. It would be so cute styled with a denim skirt this spring!

5. B A G | This bag is officially on my must have list for spring and summer! I love the style and the neutral color that will go with everything. It's so cute!

6. S N E A K E R S | I've shared this sneakers many times before and they are worth sharing again! I literally wear them almost every single day. The most comfortable sneakers of all time plus they are perfect with jeans, shorts, skirts, dresses... everything! The fit is true to size.

7. E A R R I N G S | A dainty pair of gold earrings is my current favorite style to wear, especially when I am hanging out at home. I love this pair for everyday!

8. H O O D I E | Besides leggings, I have also been reaching for hoodies pretty much daily as well. My favorite hoodie is old but so similar to this one. I really love the style of this one! It greats for the times we are currently living in but it will also be cute for cooler spring and summer nights with a pair of shorts. I love hoodies!

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you have a great day!

Happy Friday! I hope you are doing well! This has been such a crazy week. I know I'm not alone in this one. I know it's been very abnormal for all of us! There's been a lack of Instagram posts and blog posts because we have been trying to adjust to our new, for now, normal. The girls' teachers have done a fantastic job preparing activities and lessons that we can do at home so week has been busy with school work. Julianna also celebrated her tenth birthday this week and it was a much different kind of celebration this year. The restaurants began only being to do takeout orders the day of her birthday so we celebrated at home with food from one of our favorite local restaurants and an ice cream cake from the grocery store. It was different but it was still a fun celebration! Her one birthday request was a betta fish so Josh surprised her when he came home from work with a beautiful blue fish that she proudly named Luna. It's been a weird week but a good week. I have been loving the chance to slow down our pace and enjoy time together. I may only do one or two blog post a week for right now because I'm home with my kids all day, doing a little work from home, and helping them with their school assignments. This is such a crazy season but I think we are all going to be a little different on the other side of this and for the better!

Which of this week's picks is your favorite?!

1. T E E | I've shared this tee before and it's worth sharing again! I bought this last spring and it's still one of my favorites. I love layering it with cardigans when it's cooler outside but it's equally cute with a skirt or shorts in the summer. It runs small so size up a size or two for the most comfy fit.

2. R I N G | This is another item that I already own and love. I get so many compliments on this simple, budget friendly ring! It makes a statement for sure.

3. D R E S S | I love a good t-shirt dress, especially a $15 one! This cute dress fits true to size and comes in several different colors. I'm loving this striped option!

4. H E E L S | How perfect are these heels?! They are such a fun way to bring animal print into warmer weather! These heels would also take a basic outfit up a few notches. I love them!

5. B A G | This bag is definitely an investment but honestly, it's a great bag to invest in! I am a big fan of this company and a good, leather bag is my go-to.

6. J A C K E T | I have also shared this item before but I'm sharing it again this week because I'm now the proud owner of this denim jacket. It's another investment piece but it's the best denim jacket I have ever tried on! The high quality denim is so soft and so comfortable to wear. I know I am going to get my monies worth out of it! The fit is true to size.

7. E A R R I N G S | These earrings are the perfect earrings for spring and summer. I really love jewels that are made out of shells. They remind me of my happy place... the beach!

8. S H I R T | This under $20 shirt is so super similar to the style of one of my favorites from Madewell. It's a very well-made shirt and I love this color option. It also comes in our colors, as well.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

Happy Friday! Welcome to the weekend! We have a fun weekend planned to get an early start to Julianna's birthday. I can't believe she will be ten years old on Tuesday! How have ten years already passed by. It's so crazy how time flies by! A whole decade of motherhood is in the books. Such a wild roller coaster ride but I'm so grateful for every moment of it!

Today, I'm sharing my weekly round of what I'm Currently Loving! I am all about all things spring right now because we have been having the most beautiful spring weather this week in North Carolina. The sunny and seventy kind of weather that I absolutely love!

Which of this week's picks is your favorite?!

1. D R E S S | Hello, princess dress! How beautiful is this dress?! It's already on it's way to my closet and I can't wait to wear it! I just love everything about it. It can paired with a denim jacket and ankle boots now while it's still cool but it's going to be equally great with sandals, too!

2. S A N D A L S | All of the heart eyes for these simple gold sandals! I really love the style of them because they are simple and pretty all at the time time. They are on my spring wish list!

3. C A R D I G A N | Lightweight cardigans are such good transitional pieces to wear this time of year. This one is my favorite cardigan color and can be worn multiple ways. Wear it open with your favorite graphic tee or buttoned up and front tucked into your high waisted jeans!

4. S T R I P E D  S H I R T | The colors in this shirt just make me happy! I absolutely love this color combination. Also, the back detail of this shirt is so fun, too!

5. W A L L E T | I bought a wallet in this same style a few months ago and it's now the only wallet that I have been using. It's the perfect size for purses but still holds a lot. I definitely recommend this one if you are looking for a small, great quality wallet!

6. J E A N S | I currently do not own any white or off-white denim. I honestly just haven't found a pair that I loved enough. I have been on the hunt for a new pair and this budget friendly pair looks promising! I am going to them out and I'll report back!

7. E A R R I N G S | I am a big fan of hoops so I really drawn this fun twist on hoops. I love this fun geometric design! These come in gold and rhodium.

8. D E N I M  S H I R T | I think a denim or chambray shirt is definitely a closet staple! I especially love wearing denim button up shirts in the springtime (it looks so good with white denim). This one is a great option and it's currently on sale for 25% off!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Wednesday! In case you missed, yesterday I shared my latest cut and color plus what's in current rotation in my beauty bag. You can go back and check it out in this post! Today, I'm sharing my weekly Instagram Roundup, including what I wore last week. I have currently been living in comfy denim and my go-to white sneakers! I don't know why I own any other shoes because they are currently the only shoes I reach for. The most comfy sneakers of all time!

When in doubt, a striped tee is my default. Sometimes basics are just best!

My canvas printed tote is back in a super similar pattern. This bag gets so much use! I can carry all of the things in it without it being overwhelming. You can see my entire Madewell bag collection in this blog post. My favorite bags!

One of the highlights of last week was definitely going zip lining at Richland Creek!

Hair and Beauty Bag .21

beauty on a budget, hair and beauty, nc blogger, north carolina blogger, beauty finds, hair style, hair color
Hey y'all and Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is off to a great start! I spent my weekend doing dance hair and makeup. So much hairspray and so many layers of cosmetics! Today, I'm sharing my my latest cut and color plus what's on current rotation in my beauty bag. I get my hair colored every seven weeks or so because I've had some gray hair since I was 18. I'm not a fan of the gray hair but I do love the time I get to spend with my stylist! I really enjoy the hair coloring process and it's fun to add in my new colors every once in awhile. My hair is naturally pretty dark so I've decided to continue to embrace the dark hair. Dark hair is definitely here to stay but I do love adding in a few light pieces to break up the dark color. My cut is long bob with some layers. I just get the ends trimmed because I am currently still letting it grow out.

My stylist curled it with a 1.25 inch curling iron. To achieve this style she used Kenra Dry Texture Spray and the Kenra Working Spray. They also smell so good on top of working so well! I wish Kahli could come to my house and style my hair for me every day so that it could look this good all of the time! She's the best! I have learned so much about styling my hair from her. My stylist is Kahli at Renew and she's been doing my hair for almost ten years! If you decide to let her work her magic on your hair, be sure to let her know that I sent you over!

You can also read more about my hair care routine and how I go four or more days without washing my hair in this blog post! I don't skip washes because I'm lazy (but that might be part of it haha), I skip washing because my hair is so much healthier and so much more manageable when I skip a few days between washes. I've also shared about a life changing hair brush in this blog post last year. It has been a game changer for my own hair but especially my oldest daughter! We are still using and loving that hairbrush. I own several of them!

H A I R  P R O D U C T S   I' M  C U R R E N T L Y  L O V I N G:

Now, on to my beauty bag! For the most part, my beauty routine has stayed the same because when I find what works, I keep doing it. But, I feel like the most important parts of my makeup routine is definitely skincare. When I started intentionally taking better care of my skin, my makeup starting going on so much better. These products are in my current skincare lineup:

B B  C R E A M | I love this super budget friendly BB cream! It comes out white but as soon as you put it on your face, it blends into your skin tone. It comes in several shades but I personally use the shade fair because I think the shades run a little dark. I have been using this product for over a year and half and I highly recommend it! I've tried much more expensive BB and CC creams and I just keep coming back to this one!

C O N C E A L E R | I have been using Shape Tape for awhile but I decided to switch it up and try a new concealer. I think the Shape Tape gives you way more coverage than this one from Hourglass but I really prefer the way this one feels on my skin. It leaves my under eye feeling much more hydrated than the other one. I use the shade silk in this concealer.

P O W D E R | I have been using a different powder for over two years and they are discontinuing it so I am hunting for a new powder. I use a layer of powder on top of my BB cream to set it for the day. I am trying this new, budget friendly option and I like it so far. I would recommend applying this powder with the foundation brush that I'm sharing at the bottom of this post. It goes on more smoothly and you can blend it so much better!

B R O N Z E R | I recently switched to this bronzer and if you haven't smelled this kind before, you need to! It smells so good! I also really love how smoothly it goes on and it gives you such a really glow. I would highly recommend it!

B L U S H | I have been loving this blush in the shade tea rose. I love it! This is such a good drugstore blush. Also, the packaging is so pretty!

H I G H L I G H T E R | I have been using this super budget friendly highlighter for about two years. This is only $4 and it lasts forever. It adds the prettiest highlight to your face!

E Y E L I N E R | I have been loving this budget friendly liquid eyeliner. I use it on my top lash line and it lasts all day long for me. I also love this eyeliner. It goes on smoothly and lasts all day long plus it's super inexpensive! I use it on my lower lash line very lightly and then I blend it in.

E Y E  S H A D O W | This eye shadow palette is definitely worth splurging on! It lasts forever and the colors are perfect. My eye shadow lasts all day when I use this!

M A S C A R A | This Cover Girl Exhibitionist mascara is probably my favorite drug store mascara find of all time! When I look for a mascara, I'm looking for one that can give me length and volume. This one does just that and does it so well!

L I P G LO S S | My lips get so dry this time of year so I was looking for a product that would hydrate my lips plus give a little hint of color for everyday wear. I have been using this lip gloss for the past few months and I love it! Super hydrating. I have the shades radiant rose and berry brown. Both are great neutral, everyday shades!

B R O W  P E N C I L | This is a new product for me and I am so excited to have found a great brow product! It's only $2 and works just as good (if not better) as much more expensive products. I use the shade deep brown in this. I am also really love this brow product, too! I use a combo of the two of them and I love how the natural look it gives my brows and on a budget!

M A K E U P  T O O L S | I use this blender for applying my concealer, I use this foundation brush for applying my face powder, I use this brush for applying bronzer and blush, and I use this brush for applying my highlighter. Another great tip is to dampen your blender with just a little water before using it. This really helps your makeup blend much more naturally and keeps it from looking cakey. One of my favorite tricks!

M A K E U P  T O O L  C L E A N E R | Also, keeping your makeup tools clean is a super important part of your beauty routine! When I was younger, I didn't do a great job at this and my skin paid for it in breakouts. I have been using this soap to clean my blender and brushes for a few months now. I love this soap because it's make out of all natural ingredients. It comes in a bar or liquid formula and can be used for everything from cleaning your makeup brushes to your body!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Here's to good makeup and hair days! Have a great day!
