Currently Loving .240

Happy Friday! I hope you've had a good week! Since I'm not back at work yet, I have been making the most of the my time but enjoying some of my favorite hobbies. I always forget how much I love to bake until I make the time to actually do it. I baked three different things this week. One set of pumpkin muffins that were pretty good (I just need to tweak the amount of pumpkin I use in the recipe), another set of muffins that were a complete fail (so bad that I threw the entire muffin pan away because I couldn't get it clean), and chocolate chip scones that turned out perfectly (at least according to my kids)! This is the scones recipe I use and it's super easy!

Today, I'm sharing my weekly roundup of what I'm Currently Loving! As always, these picks are items that I already love or my personal wish list picks. I have been slowly evaluating my wardrobe to see what I want to add to my fall rotation. The first items I've purchased are these gorgeous black slip dress and these olive green pants (that I've already worn twice in less than a week)!

Which of this week's picks is your favorite?!

1. C R O S S B O D Y  B A G | This bag is definitely on my personal wish list for fall! I always love my Madewell bags and I think this one would be a great addition to my collection. It's currently on sale!

2. J E A N S | I live in jeans during the fall and winter so I am pretty particular about them. Quality and fit are super important to me when I'm selecting a pair of jeans. My all-time favorite jeans are the perfect vintage style, also at Madewell! Size down one size (from your non-Madewell denim size) to get the best fit. They are also currently on sale!

3. S H I R T  J A C K E T | This shirt jacket (I refuse to call it a shacket lol) is currently in my shopping cart! I always love to add a new flannel to my wardrobe during the fall and this is a great alternative to a regular flannel kind of shirt. This one will be perfect for layering! Also, on sale!

4. S H I R T | Before I talk about the shirt, yes, it's also on sale. I rounded up lots of my favorites from the Madewell sale to share with y'all this week! I've owned this shirt for two years and it's still a favorite. I actually wore it this week and it's perfect year round! I love investing in classic pieces that will serve me well for many years. Fits true to size.

5. S N E A K E R S | I love a pair of white sneakers! They are definitely a wardrobe staple for me. I love them with shorts, dresses, skirts, and jeans. Basically with everything! This cute pair is a great budget friendly option if you are in the market.

6. D R E S S | I wore my nap dress this past Sunday and finally got a chance to actually nap in it... and it was an amazing nap! This dress is not only pretty but so comfortable. They run a little big so you can definitely size down one size if you like a closer fit. I'm loving the new burgundy floral printed one! I can't wait to add another nap dress to my closet.

7. T E E | I have worn this $8 tee two times... this week! It's been my go-to tee for the past few years because it fits so well and it's amazing quality for the price. When I don't know what to wear, I always gravitate towards this gray tee and denim! Fits true to size.

8. T O T E | Yes, I share about this tote all of the time! But, when something is your absolute favorite, you want to tell everyone about it! I've owned this medium transport tote for four years and it just keeps getting better with time. I love this size because it's great as a crossbody, shoulder bags, on your arm, and basically any way you desire to carry it. I love this leopard strap that you can also get to add a fun pop of print to your look! Both items are currently on sale.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great weekend!

what to buy for fall, nc blogger, north carolina blogger, mom style, fall style

Happy Friday! I hope you've had a great week! A short week that started at the beach is definitely the kind of week that I love. All over my social media feeds, everyone is so excited for fall and I personally don't want summer to end. It's my favorite season! The end of summer means the end of longer days and even more sadly, the end of this season's zinnia garden. My little garden and my free flower stand have brought me so much joy this season! I promise to share more about both here on the blog soon.

Today, I'm sharing my weekly roundup of what I'm Currently Loving! Even though I'm not really ready for it to be fall, I am sharing lots of great pieces that are perfect for transitioning your closet into. Items that you can wear now and later are my favorite!

Which of this week's picks is your favorite?!

1. D R E S S | I have been hunting for a black slip dress that was flattering for awhile now. A couple of years ago, I bought four or five of them to try and didn't like any of them. I decided to invest and purchased this one. I can't wait to try it on! If it works out for me, it will be such a fun piece to style and layer with this fall! It also comes in three other great colors.

2. B R A C E L E T | This bracelet caught my eye as soon as I saw it on the website. I love stacking bracelets and this one is going to be a fun addition to my arm party!

3. S H I R T | A long sleeve white button is definitely a closet staple! I wear mine year round by rolling the sleeves up and pairing it with denim shorts in the spring/summer then by wearing it with my favorite jeans during the fall/winter. It's such a great piece to have in your wardrobe! I am loving this affordable option.

4. B A G | If you are looking for a cute, animal print bag for fall and winter, I love this one! It's super budget friendly and would add such a fun pop of pattern to any look.

5. H E A D B A N D | If you read Wednesday's post about how to style a headband then you know what a big fan I am of these headbands! They are so cute and so comfortable to wear. They cause zero discomfort and I can wear one all day long!

6. T E E | I am loving this cute graphic tee! I think I need to add it to my closet because I start and end pretty much every single day outside. Who else loves being outdoors?!

7. H A T | It may seem kind of early to be thinking about beanies but I missed out this color beanie last year. I bought the black one last October (pictured below) and loved it so much! I decided I wanted a second one and it was already sold out. I love that these beanies are made out of cotton so they are so soft to wear and they hold up really well!

8. P A N T S | I have had a pair of olive green pants on my wish list for awhile so I decided to try this pair. They should be here any day now and I can't wait to style them for fall!

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

How to Style a Headband

style on a budget, how to style a headband, mom style, nc blogger, how to wear a headband, north carolina blogger

Happy Wednesday! I hope you're having a great week so far! The past few weeks have been so busy with getting the girls back in school, already having one back at home doing virtual learning, and long weekend trip to the beach. Well, I'm back today and I'm finally publishing this post that I have had in my drafts since mid June! Today's post is all about how to style a headband and it's going to be mostly pictures because it's actually super simple.

How do you style a headband? You find one you like and you put it on. I hear so many ladies say that they can't pull off of a headband and I disagree. You just have to find the right one that you like and most importantly one that is comfortable on your head. I'll be the first one to say that some headbands are super painful to wear, especially all day long. But after a years of trial and error, I have a collection (you'll get to see it below) of comfortable (and cute) headbands that I love sharing my oldest daughter. She literally wears a headband every single day to keep her hair out of face. I love them for that reason (perfect for working out and running errands, too) and I love that they add a little interest to a simple outfit. Practical and stylish is two words that I like to use to describe my daily outfits!

Like I mentioned above, I have tried a lot of headbands and these headbands from J. Crew are my all time favorite. They are also super affordable when you catch them on sale (which I feel like J. Crew is frequently running some kind of sale). They are so comfortable and I can wear one all day long without even noticing that I have it on. They are the best!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!
