Currently Loving

Happy Friday! I hope you've had a great week! I am really looking forward to some rest and relaxation this weekend after a very busy week. I'm not sure what we will do but hanging out on the couch (plus a trip to Target) sounds pretty good to me!

Today, I'm sharing my weekly roundup of what I'm currently loving.
Which of this week's picks is your favorite?!

1. P O M  P O M  H A T | 'Tis the season for cozy hats! I am loving this adorable blush pink pom pom hot for the winter season.

2. J E A N S | I love a good pair of high waist denim and this pair on is on my wish list! I love the style and the wash. I always find this brand to be true to size for jeans.

3. S T R I P E D  S W E A T E R | You can't go wrong with a striped sweater and I love the mock neck on this one. You can also never have enough stripes!

4. S C A R F | I already own and love this scarf! I even purchased it again to give to someone as a Christmas present. It's a great deal at under $17!

5. L E O P A R D  C A M I | I have been loving layering a cami with a cardigan and I love this leopard one! A leopard cami has been on my list for awhile.

6. E A R R I N G S | I wear pretty simple necklaces but I love a good pair of statements earrings. They can totally change up an outfit and make it much fancier and! I think this pair would be so cute and festive for the holiday season.

7. O V E R S I Z E D  S W E A T E R | I also already own this sweater and I got so many compliments on it the first day I wore it. The fabric is so soft and it's leggings friendly! I stuck with my true size since it already has a pretty oversized fit.

8. J A C K E T | I absolutely love the color of this sherpa jacket! It's so pretty! This jacket is also super budget friendly. Adding to my cart ASAP!

Thanks so much for visiting! Have a great weekend!

Asheboro Antiquing Adventure

vintage christmas, vintage ornaments, antique mall, antiquing, north carolina blogger

Happy Thursday! Today's post is titled "Asheboro Antiquing Adventure" because anytime you take two children to an antique mall, it's an adventure (plus I really love alliteration so I needed to use three A words in the title, lol)! The great news is they didn't break anything but we definitely spent about half of our time saying don't touch that, no you can't have that $100 toy car, stop running, where are you, stay with us, and get out of that bathtub (yes, really). But, beyond that normal parenting stuff, we had such a fun time and we will definitely do it again!

Anytime, I go thrifting or antiquing, I go in with a game plan. It can be overwhelming to walk into a big thrift or antique store with no idea what you are even looking for. Unless, you have hours to spend browsing and a big budget, then I suggest coming up with a list of about three items or categories you are in the market for and how much you plan to spend:

M Y  G A M E  P L A N:
1. Pink vintage Christmas ornaments for my dining room tree.
2. Santa mug (the less red, the better).
3. Ball mason jars.
4. Spend less than $20 (setting a budget is essential).

I definitely hit the jackpot! We went to Collector's Antique Mall in downtown Asheboro (it's huge and filled with so many amazing treasures) and they literally had a case of gorgeous vintage Christmas ornaments. I wanted to buy them all! But, I really love the thrill of the hunt plus I am looking for a good deal (some of these were pretty pricey) so I only took home a few! I ended up buying three ornaments and they were all less than two dollars each.

I was also looking for a vintage ceramic Christmas tree but I couldn't find quite what I was hunting for in the price point I wanted to pay. But, they had so many pretty trees! I also found a budget friendly option at Target that range from $15-$30!

So, how did I do as far as my game plan goes? Well, I took home three pink ornaments, no santa mug (the ones I found weren't in as good of condition as I was hoping for), and no Ball jar because I wasn't in the market to spend $10 on one (like I said, good deals are my favorite). But, I did take home that gorgeous pink bouquet (see above) for only $5!

Have you found any treasures lately?!

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you have a great day!

Hey y'all! I hope your week is going well! Today, I'm sharing my weekly roundup of outfits and more that I've shared over on Instagram. I have been living in layers and cozy sweaters!

I wore this outfit on Thanksgiving and it was the perfect blend of cozy and festive. This sweater is my favorite top in my closet right now!

I have finally been able to put some of my cardigans to good use lately. This Barefoot Dreams cardigan is the softest fabric of all time. So super soft!

I'm not sure who loves Target more... me or my girls. I'm also kind of wishing that it was socially acceptable for me to sit in a basket, too.

Layers, layer, and more layers. Like I mentioned yesterday, I'm not a fan of bulky, oversized coats but I am a big fan of layering!

I haven't bought that many clothing items lately because I want all of the shoes!

Here's that perfect cozy sweater again. I've worn it with jeans and leggings because it works with everything. I also love the neutral camel color!

Glitter goes with everything, right?! I have taking advantage of every opportunity to put on these super festive glitter block heels.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

I Love Layers

how to layer for fall, how to layer for winter, black overalls, mom style, north carolina blogger, casual style

Happy Tuesday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! We finally made it to the movie theater to watch The Grinch and it was super cute. Whoville would seriously be the most fun theme park! Christmas year round! My husband and I are already dreaming up attractions, rides, and foods that it would have. Haha! We are dreamers and big fans of theme parks! But seriously, wouldn't it be the most wonderful place to visit?!

We had some pretty cold weather on Friday so when I finally got out of my Black Friday shopping outfit (as known as pajamas), I layered for the day's adventures! I really dislike bulky coats so if I can get away with not wearing one, I do. However, I do get cold easily so layers are my best friend. I knew I wanted to wear my black overalls (I also love this pair for less) so I started with them and just a basic white t-shirt. I added a plaid flannel for some pattern and then threw my sweater blazer on top for some added interest plus warmth! These functional layers kept me warm outside and I could take them off as needed indoors. I love being able to dress for the cold weather and stay warm without the bulky, oversized coat!

Currently Loving

Happy Friday! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with family and pie! Today, I'm sharing my weekly roundup of what I'm currently loving and most of this week's picks are items that I already own and love. I wore the heels, sweater, and earrings (plus my favorite jeans) from this post yesterday for Thanksgiving!

Which of this week's picks is your favorite?!

1. G L I T T E R  H E E L S | I keep my wardrobe pretty neutral for the most part. I literally don't own anything red so when it comes to dressing festive for the holidays, I like to add glitter and sparkle to my outfits to add a little glam! These affordable heels are such a fun way to add a little bit of holiday sparkle to any look. They fit true to size.

2. V E L V E T  B O W | How darling is this little bow?! This is another way to add some holiday flare to a basic outfit. It was would be perfect with a ponytail, bun, or half up half down hairstyle. It also comes in two other pretty colors.

3. H O O P  E A R R I N G S | These earrings were one of my birthday gifts from my husband! Did you know that you can get 50% any piece at your closest Kendra Scott store during your birthday month?! You can also cash in on this discount for your husband's  (or anyone else with a valid ID) birthday month as well! These earrings are fairly big but they aren't super heavy. I personally can't wear earrings that are too heavy and these work for me. I love the rhinestone detail!

4. S W E A T E R | This sweater is probably my favorite top in my wardrobe right now. It's so super cozy! I literally have worn it three times in the week I have owned it. It's also the perfect length for wearing with leggings! It runs a little big. I got the size XS/S in this one.

5. N I G H T G O W N | Y'all this nightgown is the softest thing! It's so cozy and feels just as comfy as sleeping in a t-shirt. I've had it for a couple months and it washes up perfectly as well. The fit is true to size so stick with your normal size.

6. N E C K L A C E | I am loving this long star necklace! We have a star in our logo at work so I am always drawn to stars. I think I need to pick this necklace up while it's on sale!

7. V E S T | The other day while I was getting dressed, I realized that my closet was missing a black vest. I have this same vest in a printed option but I felt like a solid black one would get a lot of use. This vest runs a little big so I always size down one size for the best fit.

8. A N K L E  B O O T S | I exchanged boots a couple times in search of the perfect cognac ankle boot. I was looking for a comfortable boot that was sock friendly with a heel height that was easy to walk in for everyday wear. These boots met all of my criteria plus I think the price is fantastic for the quality! They fit true to size and go with everything!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
