Currently Loving

Happy Friday! I hope you have had a great week! We are gearing up for a busy weekend around here. Tonight, I am headed to my local J. Crew to pick out an outfit for an event I am hosting with them! If you are local, join me at the J. Crew at the Friendly Center in Greensboro, next Saturday, March 30 from 12pm-4pm. Come say hi and check out all of their new spring arrivals!

Today, I'm sharing my weekly roundup of what I'm currently loving. The calendar now says spring so I am changing out my closet accordingly. I really love transitioning my wardrobe into a new season. It's so fun to mix pieces from different seasons to create something new! All of the pieces I'm sharing today would make great items to add a little spring refresh to your closet.

Which of this week's picks is your favorite?!

1. S H O R T S | I bought these shorts last spring and wore them multiple times a week last year! They are high rise and have the perfect amount of stretch. I would recommend sizing up one size for a more relaxed fit but if you like a slimmer look, stick with your regular size.

2. H E A D B A N D | I'm still loving all things leopard and headbands! Bad hair day? No worries. Just throw on a headband and no one will notice! This one is a great budget friendly option.

3. D R E S S | A little black t-shirt dress is a must have item. A closet staple for sure. Throw it on with a denim jacket and sandals for an easy, comfortable, and put together spring look!

4. S N E A K E R S | Want to add a little pizzazz to your casual outfit? Add pink sneakers! I have a super similar pair of New Balances and they are so comfortable.

5. B A G | How cute is this bag?! I love finding vintage inspired pieces like this. It would be a great neutral bag for spring and summer!

6. T E E | This gelato tee is calling my name! I need it to wear to my favorite local Italian restaurant that has the very best gelato. Who else loves some gelato?

7. E S P A D R I L L E S | I bought this pair of espadrilles two years (and I bought them in a second color last year) and I still love them! I have worn both pairs of mine so much and they are still in great shape. They are comfortable to walk in and the quality is great, too! I found the fit to be true to size. I love wearing mine with shorts, dresses, jeans, and skirts!

8. H A I R  T I E | Besides headbands, I am really loving these hair ties. I have this same one in leopard print and I wear it so much. I add it to my top knot and either have the ties hanging down in the back or I wrap them around the front and tie them. I wear it to the gym pretty often because besides being adorable, it also helps my hair stay in place more securely.

Thank you so much for visiting! I hope you have a great weekend!

Instagram Roundup

Happy Thursday! I'm so excited that we have officially made it to spring. I just love everything about springtime and really, I love the fresh start that a new season always bring. But, spring is probably my most favorite season of all. Besides allergies, spring is definitely the best. Everything comes back to life. The trees are green again, the skies are blue, and the flowers are blooming. I just love it!

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

2 a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
3 a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Today, I'm sharing my weekly Instagram Roundup, including lots of spring inspiration!

I have been loving that we have a Madewell store close by now. The displays in store give me so much outfit inspiration!

I have worn this denim jacket even more than I thought I would. It's a closet staple! I sized up to a medium for a true oversized, relaxed fit. It's my go-to jacket for spring!

This scent smells just like fresh flowers! Personally, I think it makes cleaning so much more fun when it smells this good and the packaging is pink. I had to stock up!

These polka dot shorts are my favorite new item for spring! They have such fun vintage vibes and I absolutely love the fit. I found them to be true to size.

How darling are these planters?! I really love plants but I'm just really bad at remembering to take care of them. Maybe some super cute planters might help?! Definitely couldn't hurt!

This is a true mom uniform for me because it's all about comfort! High waisted denim, sneakers, an oversized tee, and a top knot for the win.

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Making a Difference in Diff Aviator Sunglasses

Hey y'all! I hope your week is off to a great start! Sunglasses are absolutely essential for me! I never leave the house without them and if I forget my sunglasses, I always turn around and go back home for them. I even wear them on cloudy days because my eyes are so sensitive to sunlight. Plus, you can cover up tired momma eyes with them! I love sunglasses!

Today, I'm so excited to share an eyewear company with y'all again that makes a difference, one pair of glasses at a time. DIFF Charitable Eyewear donates a pair of glasses to a person in need for every pair of sunglasses they sell. They partner with several organizations to make this happen, including Eyes on Africa, Restoring Vision, and Svosh. They are also able to provide vision care to communities who don't have access to care. How amazing is that?! Since 2015, they have been able to give away one million pairs of reading glasses!

DIFF sent me this gorgeous pair of Cruz aviator style sunglasses in the matte gold and brown to share. These sunglasses are high quality and adorable! They are made out of premium scratch resistant mineral glass lens with 100% UVA/UVB protection! Such a great pair of shades! Aviator sunnies are my very favorite so I know I will be reaching for these everyday!

Hair and Beauty Bag

hair style, hair color, hair inspiration, beauty on a budget, brunette hair color, makeup routine
Hey y'all! I hope you are all having a great start to your week! Today, I'm sharing my latest cut and style as well as what's currently on rotation in my beauty bag. I have to get my hair colored on about an every seven to eight week schedule because I've had some gray hair since I was 18. Not fun and it seems like I have even more gray hair every time. I'm all about appreciating that aging is an honor but I just like to color my hair. I'm not ready to commit to gray! My hair is naturally pretty dark so I've decided to embrace the dark hair. Dark hair is definitely here to stay! My cut is long bob with some layers. I just get the ends trimmed because I am currently still letting it grow out.

My hair has grown so much in the past year (and even a lot in the past month)! I am loving the current length! It was fun having short hair for awhile but I feel like longer hair is just more me. Plus, I have been loving being able to throw it up in a top knot again! I am also really loving hair accessories to add a whole new look to my outfit.

My stylist curled it with a 1.25 inch curling iron. To achieve this style she used Kenra Dry Texture Spray and the Kenra Working Spray. These are two of my personal favorite hair products and they are worth every penny. They also smell so good on top of working so well! I wish Kahli could come to my house and style my hair for me every day so that it could look this good all of the time! She's the best! I have learned so much about styling my hair from her. My stylist is Kahli at Renew and she's been doing my hair for over eight years! If you decide to let her work her magic on your hair, be sure to let her know that I sent you over!

You can also read more about my hair care routine and how I go four or more days without washing my hair in this blog post! I don't skip washes because I'm lazy (but that might be part of it haha), I skip washing because my hair is so much healthier and so much more manageable when I skip a few days between washes. I've also shared about a life changing hair brush in this blog post back in January. It has been a game changer for my own hair but especially my oldest daughter!

H A I R  P R O D U C T S   I' M  C U R R E N T L Y  L O V I N G:

Now, on to my beauty bag! For the most part, my beauty routine has stayed the same because when I find what works, I keep doing it. But, I feel like the most important parts of my makeup routine is definitely skincare. When I started intentionally taking better care of my skin, my makeup starting going on so much better. You can read more about my budget friendly skincare routine in this post! I am by no means a beauty pro but this is what works for me.

P R I M E R | I received this primer free as a part of a sponsored Instagram project and I fell in love with it! I had never even really used a primer... pretty much ever so I was excited to give it a try. I applied it after my moisturizer and before my BB cream. I couldn't really tell the difference it made until all of my makeup was on. My skin was literally glowing and my makeup stayed on (and looked better) all day long. I'm officially a fan!

B B  C R E A M | I love this super budget friendly BB cream! It comes out white but as soon as you put it on your face, it blends into your skin tone. It comes in several shades but I personally use the shade fair because I think the shades run a little dark. I have been using this product for over a year and half and I highly recommend it! I've tried much more expensive BB and CC creams and I just keep coming back to this one!

C O N C E A L E R | I have been using for over a year and I am still absolutely loving it! Such a great concealer and worth the extra pennies! This product is a game changer! I wear the shade "light sand" but I would recommend getting color matched at an Ulta store if you're unsure about which color to get for your skin tone.

P O W D E R | I have been using a different powder for over two years and they are discontinuing it so I am hunting for a new powder. I use a layer of powder on top of my BB cream to set it for the day. I am trying this new, budget friendly option and I like it so far. I would recommend applying this powder with the kabuki brush that I'm sharing at the bottom of this post . It goes on more smoothly and you can blend it so much better!

C O L O R  P  A L E T T E | This palette is one of my splurges but it's also worth the price. I brush the bronzer on my cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead then I add the blush to my cheeks and finish off with the highlighter on my eye lids, nose, cheeks, and chin. This palette gives just the perfect amount of color! I always end up running out of the highlighter first (I love highlighter) so I picked up this super budget friendly highlighter (I'm using the shade moonlight pearls) to use since I still have plenty of bronzer and blush left in my palette.

E Y E L I N E R | I recently tried on this liquid eyeliner because it was a free gift with the purchase of my favorite mascara. I have never really used liquid eyeliner so I was a little hesitate to try it out. I have been using it on my top lash line and I love the bolder look. I also love this eyeliner for the bottom of my eye because the liquid eyeliner just looked a little too intense on the bottom. It goes on smoothly and lasts all day long plus it's super inexpensive!

E Y E  S H A D O W | This eye shadow palette is definitely worth splurging on! It lasts forever and the colors are perfect. My eyeshadow lasts all day when I use this!

 M A S C A R A | This It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara is probably the best mascara I have ever used! You only need one coat of this magic mascara. It adds so much volume and length to your lashes instantly. It's my favorite!

L I P S T I C K | This is the best lipstick ever! I am usually not a fan of lipstick because I feel like it drys my lips out but this one is different. My lips feel so soft after applying plus it lasts so long. My favorite shades are "Backtalk" and "Naked." It's also long lasting!

L I P G LO S S | My lips get so dry this time of year so I was looking for a product that would hydrate my lips plus give a little hint of color for everyday wear. I have been using this lip gloss for the past few months and I love it! Super hydrating. I have the shades radiant rose and berry brown. Both are great neutral, everyday shades!

B R O W  G E L | A good brow gel is something that I have been personally on the hunt for. I have tried so many different brow products but I still love anything. Until now! This brow gel does exactly what I want it to... it subtly fills in my brows and holds them in place all day without looking unnatural or sticky. I use the brown shade and I would highly recommend this product!

 M A K E U P  T O O L S | I use this blender for applying my concealer, I use this kabuki brush for applying my face powder, I use this brush for applying bronzer and blush, and I use this brush for applying my highlighter. Another great tip is to dampen your blender with just a little water (or I also love using this facial spray on my blender) before using it. This really helps your makeup blend much more naturally and keeps it from looking cakey. One of my favorite tricks!

M A K E U P  T O O L  C L E A N E R | Also, keeping your makeup tools clean is a super important part of your beauty routine! When I was younger, I didn't do a great job at this and my skin paid for it in breakouts. I have been using this soap to clean my blender and brushes for a few months now. I love this soap because it's make out of all natural ingredients. It comes in a bar or liquid formula and can be used for everything from cleaning your makeup brushes to your body!

Thank you so much for visiting! Here's to good makeup and hair days!
 I hope you have a wonderful day!
