Currently Loving

style on a budget, currently loving, what to buy for summer, north carolina blogger, target finds
Happy Friday! Our season of traveling begins today as we hit the road to go to the Charleston area to visit Josh's dad for the long weekend. He lives in a small town outside of Charleston but I'm really hoping to squeeze in a visit to the downtown. It's one of my very favorite places to go! Such a beautiful city full of pretty things to see and fun things to do. You can see more from our last trip there in this blog post. I love Charleston!

Today, I'm sharing my weekly roundup of what I'm currently loving. I am kind of wishing I already owned some of these items so that I could pack them in my suitcase this weekend!

1. H E A D B A N D | I am still loving headbands and even more so now that the warm weather is here. I love adding one to my top knot to keep all of my hair out of my face. This one is super budget friendly which makes it even better!

2. T E E | My favorite tee comes in lots of colors and I love this gray one. The material is soft and great quality plus they wash up really well. The fit is true to size and it's currently only $5! At that price, I had to pick up a couple more, including the blush pink.

3. S T R A W  B A G | How cute is this bag?! I love the bucket style!

4. S A N D A L S | I am so tempted to get these sandals... even though I already own a pair of leopard sandals. This pair is so fun! I love the print!

5. B R A C E L E T | I took a peek at the new arrivals from Kendra Scott when I was working on a post earlier this week and immediately added this bracelet to my wish list. I love the layered look!

6. D R E S S | You just can't go wrong with a little black dress. I love the button detail down the front of this one! So cute!

7.  T O T E | This might be the most perfect solution to keep a light colored bag looking clean. It's also like two bags in one because the inside bag is removable!

8. S W I M S U I T | I love this polka dotted suit! I think I need it for our Puerto Rico trip next month. I love polka dots!

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Summer Sweater and Mom Shorts

style on a budget, north carolina blogger, mom style, what to wear for spring, target style, target finds, summer style

Hey y'all! We went from winter to summer in North Carolina. At least it feels like it this week! So, with these warm temperatures I'm shopping for sleeveless tops and shorts to beat the heat. It's only May and we have already seen ninety degree temperatures! I love the look of a summer sweater but it's pretty hard to find one will work in this hot, hot, hot weather... and this is only the beginning. It's not even really summer yet. I loved a few pricey summer sweaters but I was really looking for something more budget friendly. I found this one for under $20 so I had to give it a try! I ordered my normal size and I love the fit! It had a relaxed fit... but not too relaxed, if that makes sense. The material is breezy and breathable without being too revealing. You can wear a regular bra with it but it would also be really cute with a bralette! I also really love the length and the side slits.

I paired it with my mom shorts for Saturday's dance recital and spending the day with my family. It was the perfect comfortable outfit for running around! The shorts are high rise (my absolute favorite) with a mid length. These are the perfect shorts when you don't want to wear booty shorts but you aren't quite ready to commit to bermuda shorts. The inseam is seven inches and they can be worn rolled as well. I stuck with my normal size for a looser fit but you could also size down one size if you are looking for a more fitted style. Hello, new favorite mom shorts!

Instagram Roundup

style on a budget, north carolina blogger, mom life, what to wear for spring, spring outfits
Happy Wednesday! This Instagram Roundup includes two pink front door pictures (we take photos in front of our front door for special occasions) because it was an exciting week! Olivia turned seven last Thursday and on Saturday the girls had their dance recital. Such a busy but fun week!

This year of dance has been the most exciting one yet as we tackled competitive dance for the first time! We learned a lot, mom became a professional makeup artist, and a few tears were shed (particularly over eyeliner and fake eye lashes). but most importantly, my girls gained confidence and had so much fun! I am so thankful for the amazing teachers from Pointe South for pushing my girls to be the best dancers they can be. Happy Recital Day, Julianna and Olivia!

Happy Seventh Birthday, Olivia Grace! How are you already seven?! You have been the sweetest completion to our family. You have softened my heart and made me a better person. You are loving, compassionate, and a fellow rule follower. You are silly and sassy when you need to be. your dream is to become a baby doctor and i know you can do anything you set your mind to do. You’re a hard worker and the slowest breakfast eater i have ever met. You’re my baby and I’ll always love you with all of my heart! Thank you for always giving me a hug even when I didn’t know I needed one. You always know how to make me smile. Enjoy your special day, sweet girl!

I wore this gorgeous flower dress for Mother’s Day and it’s even prettier in person. Such a steal at under $25! I wore it with heels for church but it’s also beautiful with strappy sandals for a more casual look. The fit is true to size and the straps are adjustable. I also shared it here on the blog in yesterday's post! It's definitely my favorite dress!

Two of my favorites: polka dots and flowers.

Eyelet and denim is one of my favorite warm weather styles. My top and sandals are both under $25! They also both fit true to size.

Budget Friendly Floral Dress

style on a budget, budget friendly floral dress, target style, north carolina blogger, spring outfit ideas, summer style

Hey y'all! I hope your week is off to a great start! In case you missed it, I shared a recap of my Kendra Scott Mother's Day event here on the blog yesterday, including some amazing photos by the talented Jodie Brim Photography! After putting together that post and checking out some of the new arrivals, I feel like a another trip to Kendra Scott is in my near future!

Today, I'm sharing a gorgeous budget friendly floral dress that I wore out with my family on Friday evening and I also wore it on Mother's Day. Its' definitely my current favorite dress plus it's super affordable at less than $30!

style on a budget, budget friendly floral dress, target style, north carolina blogger, spring outfit ideas, summer style

It's one of those dresses that you see online and the pictures just don't do it justice. It's just so much prettier in person! I love the button detail down the front! I also love how it's open from the knee down to make the dress extra flowy and breathable for warm weather days. The tiered layers, the gorgeous floral print, and the way it moves when you walk in it. It's just so good!

The first time I wore it I styled it with a denim jacket and cognac wedges because it was a cooler day. For this look, I ditched the jacket and wore a bralette plus gold gladiator sandals to complete the look. It's such a great dress for hot spring and summer days! The fit is true to size but you may want to size up if you have a larger chest. Also for length reference, I am 5'5" and I think the length would definitely work on someone much shorter than I am. This is such a great dress for the price!

Kendra Scott Mother's Day Event

jodie brim photography, north carolina blogger, gloria's nail bar, kendra scott, kendra scott greensboro, style on a budget, summer style, what to buy for summer, kendra scott jewelry

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Ours was so busy but we had a lot of fun! My girls and I got fairy hair on Friday, we had dance recital on Saturday plus we got Olivia's ears pierced, and we celebrated a wedding with my husband's family on Sunday, including family photos. I could definitely use an extra day in between Sunday and Monday! Anyone else?!

But, I'm up bright and early this Monday morning because I am so excited to share the photos from my latest Kendra Scott event at the Greensboro store in the Friendly Center! All of these gorgeous images are by the ever so talented Jodie Brim Photography. She is also so super sweet!

A few months ago when I first saw that there was going to be a Kendra Scott store so close to me now, I was thrilled! I love Kendra Scott jewels and have purchased them online but there's nothing better than seeing them in person and trying pieces on in store. Kendra Scott stores are beautiful, the staff is always so helpful, and it's just an great overall shopping experience, every time.

I've done a few Kendra Scott events in the past but this one was extra special because it was a mommy and me event with my girls! They even got to create their very first Kendra Scott piece at the Color Bar and it was such a fun experience for them. They are still wearing their necklaces on a daily basis! You can read more about their Color Bar experience in this post. At our event, there was pink lemonade for the little shoppers, beer (and cute koozies) for the dads, mimosa for the mommas, and sweet treats for everyone!

My girls favorite part of the event was the manicures! Gloria's Nail Bar was there to provide free manicures to anyone who made a $100+ purchase that day. She used the prettiest Kendra Scott polishes to give us such gorgeous manicures right in store!

Also, a big shout out to the amazing team of Kendra Scott ladies that helped make this event so much fun! Especially, Kelly, the store manager. They are all so friendly and knowledgeable! Also, thanks again to Jodie Brim for the photos and Gloria's Nail Bar for helping us treat ourselves to such pretty nails. This was a dream team to work with!

If you are in the Greensboro area, make sure you stop in to Kendra Scott and let these ladies help you pick up a few jewels to complete all of your summer outfits!
