Currently Loving .168

Happy Friday! It's finally the last day of January... also known as the very longest month of the entire year. I'm kidding, kind of. In some ways this most has felt super long because it's also flown by because I've been so busy. Does that even make sense?! Lol. Probably not! I hope your 2020 is off to a wonderful start!

Also, in case you missed it yesterday, I shared five ways to style faux leather leggings here on blog yesterday. The outfit ideas totally work for any black leggings. I hope that post inspires you for how to style your leggings in new ways!

Today, I'm sharing my weekly roundup of what I'm Currently Loving! As always, I include pieces that I already own and love, along with new finds. I don't want to always share new stuff on these posts, I want to also share what I bought and absolutely loved... and am still loving!

Which of this week's picks is your favorite?!

1. L E G G I N G S | After yesterday's styling session, I could leave the faux leather leggings off of a the list! As I mentioned yesterday, this is the third season in row that I have been wearing my leggings. They have held up so well! I find the fit to be true to size.

2. N E C K L A C E | How pretty is this necklace?! This would make the perfect Valentine's gift to someone or an amazing gift to yourself. I need to add this to my collection!

3. T O P | I got this top last week and I absolutely love it! I wore it over the weekend and it's so comfy. The fit is oversized and relaxed so it works with jeans or leggings for the perfect weekend look. I got a size small and it definitely runs a little big.

4. H E A D B A N D | My two daughters and I all wear headbands on a regular basis so I feel like I can totally justify getting another one! My oldest daughter literally wears one every single day and they look adorable on her. We need this one, too! I always love leopard.

5. S N E A K E R S | These sneakers are so fun! I love the pattern! Fun fact: I wear nothing but sneakers Monday through Thursday. Between the gym and work, I live in comfortable footwear!

6. B R A C E L E T | I am a big fan of bracelets and I am loving this one to add to my arm party. Madewell jewels always hold up so well and keep their pretty gold color!

7. B A G | The bag I shared last week sold out so fast that so many of you missed it that were looking to invest in a great leather bag. Well, this one is currently on sale now! I also really love the classic style of this bag. It's absolutely timeless!

8. J E A N S | I'm all about a good mom jean! I haven't personally tried this pair but they have so really great reviews online. I love high rise denim!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great weekend!

Five Ways to Style Faux Leather Leggings

faux leather leggings, how to wear faux leather leggings, style on a budget, nc blogger, north carolina blogger, outfit ideas
Happy Thursday! Over on Instagram today, I'm teaming up with three amazing and stylish women (MaddyAshley, and Kaci) for a style session! This is actually the first time I ever done a styling session with friends so I am super excited. We have teamed up to style one of my personal closet essentials, the faux leather Spanx leggings! This is my third season wearing the exact same pair of these leggings. They are such great quality and totally worth the price tag! If you consider price per wear then mine were basically free, lol. I find the fit to be true to size but I do know that some ladies like to size up one for a little extra room so it's totally up to your preference. These leggings are pricey and even though I think they are worth the cost, I did round up some budget friendly options for every budget at the bottom of this post to give you more options.

I'm wearing the regular length in the Spanx faux leather leggings and I'm 5'5". They hit right on my ankle for length reference. These leggings also come in a petite length as well, that I would personally recommend if you are shorter than I am.

In today's post and over on Instagram, I'm sharing five different ways to style faux leather leggings. You can absolutely recreate similar looks with any kind of black leggings if you don't own any faux leather ones. I'm here to say that leggings are definitely pants!

OUTFIT ONE
This first look is my go-to when I'm wearing faux leather leggings. The formula is simple: a comfortable sweatshirt and sneakers! I added this utility jacket for a little extra warmth.

OUTFIT TWO
This look is how I dress up my faux leather leggings, well, at least dressed up for me. I added ankle boots and I love wearing these leggings with heels. Heels plus these leggings make your legs look so long! I paired my leggings with my favorite flannel shirt and layered it with a denim jacket. This would be such a fun outfit for a casual date night!

OUTFIT THREE
This next look is all about being cozy, especially on a snowy/rainy winter day! I love wearing my faux leather leggings with rainboots because you don't have to worry about jeans bunching up inside of your boots (which drives me absolutely crazy). To keep me warm, I paired my leggings with this extra cozy sherpa pullover. It's seriously the softest sherpa, on the outside and inside! This perfect sherpa fits true to size, comes in several colors, has pockets, and is leggings friendly!

OUTFIT FOUR
This next outfit is another comfy, casual, and cozy look! This look is perfect for something quick to throw on while still looking put together. A relaxed fit tee, cardigan, and slip on shoes for the win! It's basically as easy (and cozy) as throwing on your favorite robe and slippers.

OUTFIT FIVE
My last outfit idea is to style my leggings with an oversized sweater and tall boots. These boots are so incredibly comfortable! I walked over ten miles in these boots when we were in Asheville and I had zero discomfort. The color also goes with everything! I've worn a similar variation of this outfit many times. I think it totally works for mom life, work, or even a date!

Instagram Roundup .197

nc blogger, north carolina blogger, mom style, winter outfit ideas, style on a budget
Hey y'all! I hope you're having a great week so far! We are back into a normal routine this week and I feel like the week is already flying by. But, that is mostly because this week has been so busy that I feel like every minute of the day is filled up. Stay tuned tomorrow for one of the projects that I kept me busy this week-- a fun style session that I've teamed up with three other ladies to share!

Today, I'm sharing my weekly Instagram Roundup, including my outfits from last week. I have started trying to capture more of my real life, mom outfits from my weekday mornings. I literally wear gym clothes Monday-Friday mornings but I try to make them look a little more put together, especially if I'm running errands before or after my workout. The new leopard leggings that I just recently got are making my weekday morning outfits so much more fun!

Currently Loving .167

nc blogger, north carolina blogger, style on a budget, winter outfit ideas, style blogger, mom style
Happy Friday! I hope you've had a great week! It's been kind of an unusual week for me because I haven't had to work my normal schedule, my kids had a day off of school, and my husband has been out of town for work. I'm such a creature of habit so I really love my normal routine but it has been nice to have a little bit of extra downtime... but I'm so thankful my husband is home!

Today, I'm sharing my favorite post of the week, what I'm Currently Loving. These posts are my favorite but honestly, they are a little time consuming. Scouring the internet for things that I love sounds easy but I am very picky about what I choose to share here. If I wouldn't actually purchase an item with my own money, then I won't share it here. Sometimes that even means me actually buying the item and seeing it in person before it makes the cut for this post!

Which of this week's picks is your favorite?!

1. L E G G I N G S | These leggings were one of the items I wanted to check out for myself before I shared them on here. I am totally a black leggings kind of girl, especially for working out but I was really intrigued by this fun pair! I decided to give them a try and I absolutely love them! They are even cuter in person and so comfortable. They are high rise and comfortably hold you in. The fit is true to size and I went with the short length (I'm 5'5" for height reference) because I like my ankles to be able to breathe at the gym, lol.

2. N E C K L A C E | I am a big fan of dainty necklaces and I have had my eye on this one for awhile. It's currently on sale for under $20 plus an additional 30% off. I think it's time to add it to my necklace collection at that price!

3. S H O E S | These shoes are a total wish list for me because they are pricey. But, they are so cute! Madewell shoes are always so comfortable and amazing quality so I think these shoes will be worth saving up for!

4. K I M O N O | My closet in filled mostly with classic pieces and lots of neutral colors so this kimono is a little out of norm for me. But, pink is my favorite color and I really like to mix in fun pieces like this to make my basic wardrobe a little more exciting. I'm planning to add this budget friendly find to my closet!

5. P U L L O V E R | I've shared this pullover before but I wanted to share it again since I now own it for myself. I have tried many sherpas in the past few years and I can confidently say that this one is the best, especially for the price. It's super soft on the outside and the inside! The fit is true to size (it does fit a little oversized) and it's leggings friendly. I'll be living in it until spring!

6. T O P | I'm really loving henley tops lately and this one is no exception. Throw it on with jeans and sneakers for a cute, casual, and comfy look for everyday.

7. B A G | Y'all know I am a big fan of Madewell bags and if I didn't already own a crossbody bag in this color, I would totally buy this! It's on sale for a great price for a great bag. The leather just gets better and better with time!

8. J E A N S | These jeans are another repeat for me because they are my favorite pair of skinny jeans that I have ever owned. Yes, I know that is a strong statement but they are so good! The fit is flattering and they are so incredibly comfortable to wear. The run true to size and will certainly become your favorite jeans too!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
