My October Purchases

Hey y'all! I hope your week is off to a great start! Today, I'm going to be sharing my October purchases with y'all. I used to share my favorite monthly purchases here on the blog (probably about a year ago or so) but I stopped doing that when I stopped purchasing as much stuff. They aren't my favorites anymore because it's not a matter of choose my favorites. If I purchased it and kept it then that means that I really loved it! I hope that makes sense. Weekly, I share my roundup of what I'm Currently Loving and I just want you to know that I never purchase all of the items that I love. Sometimes I might buy one thing, none, two or three, or I already own (and love) some of the items that I am sharing. I have become so much more thoughtful about what I spend my money on over the last 12-18 months. I also encourage you to be thoughtful as well! Before I add an item of clothing to my closet, I always ask myself a few questions...

How often will I get use out of this item?
If this item practical for my lifestyle?
Do I want to buy this because I love it or because someone else has it?
How long will this item last in my closet?
Am I buying this only because it's on sale?
Can I style this item with pieces that I already own?

I used to buy so many things without walking through these questions and it left me with a closet of items that I never used. So many things that were a total waste of money! So now, I'm more thoughtful (not perfect but much better than before) about what I choose to spend money on. So, here's what I bought that month that made it thoughtfully into my closet:

A new pair of leggings for working out was on my list of things I needed. This pair had great reviews so I gave them a try and they are my new favorite leggings to workout in! They are so comfortable and literally feel like you are wearing nothing. I stayed true to size and got the short length for a little ankle breathing room.

This was another item that I was on the hunt for. My closet was missing an everyday cream sweater and this one was the perfect one to fill that need. I sized up for a more relaxed fit. It's a great budget friendly option, too!

This dress was a splurge and something I definitely debated on getting because it wasn't exactly on my need list or even my wish list when I found it. After a few days of debating, I decided to get it when it was on sale and I'm so glad that I did! It's a great dress that can take me from season to season in style. Plus, I love the leopard and the silk is amazing quality!

I was in need a great pair of everyday ankle boots that were work friendly and still stylish for weekend outfits. This pair is super comfortable and a great price, too! I found the fit to be true to size.

I had a small wallet on my need list, especially for when I carry small bags. I love that this one zips up and it has card slots inside. The leopard print is too cute! Excellent quality, too.

This dress was a semi-impulsive purchase. Semi because I shared it on my Currently Loving post one week so I knew I already loved it but impulsive because I tried it on at Target the next day and immediately purchased it. I used to try on lots of things at Target and would end up walking out of the store with half of it because well, I loved it all! But now, I try to avoid the dressing room and trying on excessive amounts of clothing so that the temptation to just buy it all is lessened. This particular dress was so flattering and filled the need for a fall/winter little black dress in my closet. The fit is true to size and such a great closet staple for me!
