Hey y'all! I hope your week is off to a great start! It's been a long time since I've shared a three things from the weekend post so today I thought I would recap this past weekend for y'all! I share lots of the highlights from our adventures on my Instagram stories but I don't always get a chance to tell in detail about what we did, our ate, or saw so I'm going to be sharing more here!

My husband was out of town traveling last week and still wasn't home yet on Friday afternoon because of delayed flights. So, what is there to do with just the girls?! Go shopping, of course! I needed to stop in to Kendra Scott and chat with the manager about our upcoming Mommy and Me event so we stopped there first. Save the date for May 4 from 10am-12pm at the Kendra Scott location in the Shops at Friendly in Greensboro! I'll have more details to come soon but I am so excited to partner with Kendra Scott and my girls for this event! The new collection launches tomorrow and I can't wait to show y'all some of the beautiful pieces that I got a chance to preview while I was there on Friday night. We also made a stop of my Madewell (of course) and Anthropologie before heading for a quick Target run. Almost all of my favorite stores!

This dress was from last week's currently loving post and it's even better in person!

We started our Saturday off with a very rainy morning at the North Carolina Zoo. We went with the families from the nonprofit afterschool enrichment program at I work at for our annual STEM Saturday event. Despite the rainy weather, we had a great morning at the zoo! It wasn't crowded and we got to the gorilla feeding (plus the gorilla keeper answered questions for us). Seeing the gorillas come out to get their food might have been one of my favorite zoo memories of all time! It was so entertaining to watch. I loved it! I would always recommend checking out the animal feedings and training when you visit the zoo. I'm always amazed!

Later that afternoon, the rain cleared up so we headed out for another family adventure. I also must note that I am our family event coordinator and my husband likes it that way. As long as there's good food involved, he's happy, lol. Our first stop was to browse the Collector's Antique Mall downtown. This is one of my favorite things to do! I rarely buy much but I always love looking at all of the neat pieces. On this trip, I did buy for a vintage scarf for less than two dollars with a discount! I went in looking for some sort of accessory and I found such a good one. We celebrated our kids not breaking anything at the antique mall with a glass of wine at Lumina (it's just steps away from the antique mall). For dinner, we walked to The Table for soup, sandwiches, fries, and dessert!

After church on Sunday, my goal for lunch was go somewhere that we've either never been to or haven't been to in awhile. We had planned to go to Scrambled but the parking lot was full and the wait was long so we decided to go somewhere else. On the way to the next place, we passed by Fishbones. We had seen this place many times but I didn't even realize that it was a restaurant (I thought it was just a bar) but we saw families dining outside so I looked up the menu on my phone as we passed by. The food sounded delicious and we saw people with kids so we decided to give it a try. First of all, the customer service was amazing and the staff was so friendly. And second, the food was seriously amazing. Some of the best food I've ever had! We tried the specials, the tuna and the grouper but they have other non-seafood options on the menu as well. I would highly recommend Fishbones and we will definitely be going back soon!

Our next stop was the Greensboro Arboretum, one of my very favorite places in Greensboro, especially this time of year. Everything was in full bloom and just beautiful! We all really enjoyed our walk around the gardens. This is such a fun and free activity to do as a family!

Our last adventure of the weekend was a sweet stop at Maxie B's, which is a bakery and dessert cafe. There is usually a line way out the door so you know this place has to be good! Well, it's better than good, it's amazing. Everything I have ever tried is so delicious! We only waited in line for about five minutes when we went around 4pm on a Sunday afternoon. I got the fresh strawberry cake with buttercream and it was big enough for my husband and I to share. Also, the decor and atmosphere in whole place is so pretty. If you've never been, you must go!
