Happy Thursday! I hope you're having a great week! Today's post is all bout my No. 2 Leopard Pencil Skirt from J. Crew. When I did my J. Crew Spring Dressing Event back in March, I had the exciting opportunity to put together an outfit complimentary as a thank you for hosting the event. As you can tell, my style is very casual but for the event I wanted to dress up everyday casual so I picked this skirt to style. I originally paired it with a graphic tee, the same denim jacket, and heels for the event. As much as I loved that outfit, it wasn't something that I would really wear in my everyday life, particularly the heels. Also, this is also the first pencil skirt that I have owned since I first started teaching back in 2008. When I started teaching, I felt like I had to own a pencil skirt!

So, that brings me back to styling this skirt. I loved it dressed up with heels but that just wasn't going to work on a daily basis. I stood in my closet on Easter morning, with my styling wheels turning to try to figure out how to style this skirt in a casual yet put together way with no heels. I looked at my shoes and the sandals I had, just didn't look right but then I spotted my white Converse sneakers. I tried them on with the skirt and I loved how they gave the skirt a more casual feel.

I normally follow my spring outfit formula (a white tee and a denim jacket) but the white tee just didn't give me the look that I was really going for. It was just a little too matchy matchy with the white sneakers. I had just picked up with gray tank the day before so I tried it on and I loved it! This tank has a relaxed fit so it was perfect for side tucking into the skirt for some waist definition. This overall look just felt very comfortable yet put together. It's definitely not your traditional Easter Sunday best but I loved it!
