Happy Thursday! On June 28, my husband and I celebrated ten years of marriage together! Marriage is beautiful, frustrating, joyful, confusing, exciting, hard, and most importantly, worth it. Our ten years of marriage haven't been without challenges and they definitely haven't been perfect. We have faced so many difficult things together but we have always come out on the other side so much stronger through the power of love, grace, and God!
We celebrated by taking an incredible trip to Cozumel (traveling is our favorite) and we also sat down together to compile ten things that we learned during the first ten years of our marriage:
1. Collect experiences, not things. They last a lot longer!
2. Your spouse is gross; get over it.
3. Be each other’s best friend.
4. Make time for each other even if it’s just a nightly date on the couch to watch Netflix.
5. Take your expectations for each other and throw them out the window. No one is perfect.
6. Make time for yourselves individually and treat yo self.
7. When you become parents, get away from the kids and enjoy alone time often. It’s essential!
8. Find something you both enjoy doing together and do it.
9. Embrace what makes you each unique. Our weaknesses are often our spouse’s strengths.
10. Marriage requires lots of love and even more grace. We don’t go to bed without saying “I love you."
Ten years down, a lifetime to go!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day, y'all!
