pointy toed + laced up

I don't always buy into trends but this one is just too cute not to. Pointy toed lace up flats are all over my Instagram feed and I know exactly why. They can make a boring outfit way more fun! The lace up detail is feminine and oh so sassy. I love pairing mine with skinny jeans and a flannel shirt or a mini skirt with a comfy tee.

But as always, I go for style on a budget. I have rounded up a few of my favorite {& affordable} pointy toed + laced up flats:

sunday snaps

#sundaysnaps | week in review

This week was another busy one with work being fully back into swing. We had our first family night and it was a big success. Thankful for comfortable shoes to get me through long days.

Reminding myself through my reading for mom group that goodness in equals goodness out. Wednesday morning, I intentionally started my day with time in God's word, coffee, and a good workout. It made such a positive difference in my entire day!

Thursday mornings I always skip my workout to go on a little adventure with Olivia. Our time together is flying by so I want to soak in all of the moments we can together. Before I know it, she'll be a kindergartner. We went to Target, Old Navy, and had lunch at Chipotle. Her favorite thing to do is to eat lunch together and for me to sit right next to her. She's a fun lunch date, always.

Thursday, I enjoyed going to The Preppy Possum for a paint class with my closest friend, Pam. We had a great girls night and I took this gorgeous sunflower home. Such a fun outing!

Saturday morning, I got my hair cut + colored by my fabulous stylist. She does an amazing job every single time. I love it!

On Saturday afternoon, we had planned to go to a hot air balloon festival but the wait to park was two hours so we found other fun. There was a corn maze about five miles away so we decided to head there.

The girls had a blast riding on the cow train, getting their faces painted, sling shotting apples, diving into a corn pit, navigating the corn maze, eating popcorn, and racing ducks. Fall fun at it's finest!

I found these gorgeous pumpkins at the Regal Corn Maze. Fall is definitely the best season of all.

After our afternoon adventure, we ended our day with a low country boil, smores, and friends to celebrate a birthday. It was a busy but wonderful week!

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever!

so faux

faux: /fō/ | adjective | made in imitation; artificial

This outfit is so faux for a couple reasons. First of all, this look is faking fall. North Carolina has seen quite a few 80 degree fall days lately. So what does one do when they want to wear their new cool weather clothes and not die from heat exhaustion? A faux suede skirt with bare legs and a t-shirt. That's how. Add in a leopard clutch with booties and you're good to go. Fall neutrals keep this look on point with the season. I'm enjoying this gorgeous weather and I'll definitely miss it when I have to bundle up in a blanket scarf and tights to wear this gorgeous skirt again. So for now, I'll just keep it faux.

sunday snaps

#sundaysnaps | week in review

I have waited all spring and summer for my hydrangeas to start blooming. I pruned it a little a few weeks ago and now I have three blooms. It might have taken until October but these pretty flowers are definitely worth the wait.

This week the kiddos were back at the afterschool program I work at. I loved seeing their happy faces again! And I love being able to wear jeans to work everyday.

My big girl is loving her ballet, tap, and jazz class this year. She's such a great dancer!

Wednesday morning, I brewed myself a big pot of air... I forgot to put the water in the coffee maker. I didn't have time to make a new pot before Julianna needed to be at school so I had to make a stop at my favorite place for a hazelnut latte.

This is what a good hair day looks like for me. Unfortunately this doesn't happen everyday or even every week so it had to be documented.

Josh took the day off of work on Friday so he was able to go with us to take Olivia to preschool. She loved showing daddy her classroom and the remodeled school.

Big sister was out of school Thursday and Friday so she was able to also visit at the preschool to see her teachers from when she was a preschooler. She absolutely loved it!

Josh captured this sweet moment of Olivia sitting on the stairs with her feet in his boots, a lollipop in her mouth, and a princess tutu stuck underneath her dress. Just too cute.

Saturday, I helped host a seminar with the ladies from my church. It was such an amazing time getting to open up and share my heart with other ladies in Christ.

And today we went to Millstone Creek Orchards for a pumpkin and apple picking hayride, an apple cider slushie, tire swings, punkin' chunkin', and other fall fun. We had a great time together!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
