what i wore

#whatiwore | an instagram roundup

It's supposed be nearly 80 degrees here today and I am hoping to pack away my blanket scarves as soon as possible! Winter is fun for a little while but I'm over layers and ready for beach days! We booked our first beach trip of the season and I.seriously.cannot.wait! We will be headed to Oak Island for some relaxation on Memorial Day weekend. Sunshine, good food, and salty air is just calling my name. I just updated my wish list and I think I need to add these sandals to my closet... but first, a pedicure.

I hope y'all have a wonderful Wednesday!

grown up dress up

“Playing dress-up begins at age five and never truly ends.”
― Kate Spade

For me, this quote is completely accurate. As a little girl, I always LOVED dressing up. But not exactly in the sense that you may be thinking. I never really had any princess dresses or plastic shoes. When I got young, my grandma had a box of her old clothing, shoes, and accessories in her spare bedroom. I remember my cousin and I spending hours changing in and out of the items in that box and in my grandma's closet. We would strut our stuff down the hallway and my grandma always told us how beautiful we looked in her old belongings. I would also raid my mom's closet to try on her shoes or carry her purses. Even at the age of two, I was already stealing my mom's fancy shoes.

So from those red to my current lace up red shoes, I've always adored fun shoes! This outfit felt so feminine and ballerina-like. I love flowy tops, lacy details, and comfort... I always want to be comfortable! This is that sweater than I own in two colors that I wear at least once a week. When you love something, buy it in every color and dress up because grown ups can play dress up too... I do it everyday!

jean queen

You can just call me the Jean Queen. I literally live in jeans! They are such a closet staple for me... and most of America. It's so important to find ones that fit well and last. I have a tendency to stick with darker washes because I find them to be the most slimming style for me. But every once in awhile, I get a little crazy and try a new wash. These gorgeous Seven For All Mankind Jeans were an absolute steal from Fevrie! These jeans can go for at least $200 and Fevrie retailed them for about $60! Such a good deal.

Have you heard of Fevrie?
"Fevrie is a fashion house that speaks to the modern woman. Inspired by the French style and culture, the brand embodies a true collaboration between the sophistication of Europe and the lively spirit of America. Intertwining the two creates the ultimate tie between success and fun!"

They provide great authentic brands such as Free People, Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, and so much more for just a fraction of a price. Think of them as your online department store outlet. Fevrie wants to help everyone get fabulous for a more affordable price which I love! I am all about style on a budget and fashion should be affordable!

These jeans are a straight leg cut with a mommy must have mid-rise. I paired them with a striped tunic, tassel clutch, leopard pumps, and a pink statement necklace. I am loving this combination for spring! I truly feel like the Jean Queen in this outfit!

What's your favorite way to style jeans?

what i wore

#whatiwore | an instagram roundup

I work at a faith based afterschool enrichment program for at-risk kids in my community. Did ya get all that? There's a lot to what we do. We are there to help them with their homework, feed them, love on them, mentor them, and teach them. It's such a rewarding job! Last month, we focused on random acts of kindness and it inspired me to be more intentional about being kind to others. I am so thankful for all of the amazing people that following along with my Instagram and blog so last week I sent out random goodie packages to three ladies that left comments on my blog posts. It was so much fun putting the packages together and I hope the packages brightened their days as well! You don't have to do a lot to make a big difference. Just show kindness and love one another. Keep an eye out on my Instagram account for my next little giveaway.

I hope y'all have an amazing day!
