Four Ways to Style Overalls

Hey y'all! I hope you had a great weekend! Today, I'm teaming up with four awesome ladies (Joanne, Lauren, Magen, and Courtney) to share different ways to style overalls! Overalls can be a pretty challenging item to style because you don't want to look like an oversized toddler in them, lol. In today's post, I'm sharing four different ways to wear your overalls! I personally own two different pairs of Madewell overalls, a regular denim pair and a black pair. Both pairs have a skinny fit, which I love because it makes them look more chic! The black pair is my personal favorite so I picked them to style for y'all today. The denim pair fits true to size because they are pretty stretchy but the black ones are a more stiff material so they run smaller. For size reference, I'm 5'5" and wearing a size small, regular length. Do you own overalls?!

OUTFIT ONE | henley, sneakers and denim jacket
This first look is definitely the most casual look out of the four that I'm sharing today but it's definitely my most common way to wear my overalls. I love throwing on a pair of sneakers with my overalls! For this look, I'm wearing a henley tee underneath (I sized up one size in the tee) plus a denim jacket, fun bag, and jewels to pull the look together. I will probably be wearing this identical look this weekend because I love it so much! Easy yet stylish... the best.

OUTFIT TWO | turtleneck, moto jacket, and leopard boots
When I'm doing these style sessions, I honestly do very little beforehand preparation. I just throw outfits together in the middle of the process, which is super fun for me. I love how this edgy look came together! I'm wearing a fitted turtleneck underneath (it runs small so I sized up one size) with a black moto jacket, crossbody bag, and my favorite leopard boots. The colors in the leopard print totally pull together the entire outfit. Okay, maybe I want to wear this outfit this weekend instead... I love it! Such a fun way to wear overalls for date night, too!

OUTFIT THREE | sweater, blazer, and tall boots
Can overalls be work appropriate?! If so, then this is the way to wear overalls to work! See, you can seriously make overalls look chic, just add a blazer. My blazer is from last year but it's back in a super similar print! It's budget friendly and great quality. The new version runs a little small so I would recommend sizing up one to two sizes for a more relaxed fit. Okay, back to this outfit. I wore a sweater under my overalls (I really bulky sweater might not work but this lighter weight one totally works) then I added the blazer, tall boots, and my large transport tote in black. I really love how the tall boots look with the overalls... I've actually never worn them together until now!

OUTFIT FOUR | button up, cardigan, and mules
For the last look, I added a silk button down under my overalls, which is also something I've never worn with them before. I have really been trying to fully utilize my wardrobe and wear the things I own in a new, different ways. I used this style session as a way to get creative and see the things that were already hanging in my closet in a whole new way. For some extra warmth, I threw on a cardigan, which I love to wear with overalls and my Madewell mules. I felt really comfortable in this outfit but still put together!
