Hey y'all! I hope you're week is off to a great start! Today's post is all about skincare. Back in January, my skin was awful. I couldn't tell if it was just the weather causing the dryness and breakouts or if something I was using on my face was the culprit. I also felt like my makeup wasn't going on like it used to. If your skin isn't happy, your makeup definitely won't look as good either. So, I threw out pretty much everything in my old skincare routine and started fresh! My new skincare regimen started with the great moisturizer hunt of 2018 that I shared on this post. Keeping reading today to see which of those moisturizers made the cut and to see what else I added in to my beauty friendly skincare routine. Yes, everything is budget friendly which makes it even better!
But before I get started, I do want to note that my skin is normal to dry and fairly sensitive. This is a quick summary of my routine and then I'll share more details about each product and how I use them:
N I G H T T I M E R O U N T I N E | micellar cleansing water, moisturizing cold cream cleanser, serum, eye repair cream, moisturizer, and facial spray.
M O R N I N G R O U T I N E | rinse face with water, serum, moisturizer, and facial spray after applying makeup.
M I C E L L A R W A T E R | I have been using this micellar water for over six months now and it's my go-to for removing my makeup. I add a little bit to a cotton round and it does an excellent job removing my makeup. I wear quite a bit of eye makeup and it gets it off without irritating my eyes. No matter how tired I am at night, I always take off my makeup and this product makes it easy.
C L E A N S E R | This cleanser is also a part of my nighttime routine. After I remove my makeup with the micellar water, I follow up with this moisturizing cleanser. It does a great job of leaving my skin feeling super clean and removes any makeup that I might have missed.
S E R U M | After using it twice a day for the past six months, I can definitely say that it brightens and tightens your skin, just as it says it does. Plus, it smells just like freshly cut roses! I just use a small drop all over my face at night and in the morning before applying my moisturizer.
E Y E C R E A M | This might be the first eye cream that I have ever purchased and I don't know why! I have always struggled with dark circles and puffiness under my eyes. I've been using this eye repair cream for four months and I can definitely see a difference. After the first couple of times that I used it, I could already notice that the puffiness had gone down. I apply a small amount to my fingertip and gently pat it underneath my eyes. I use this after my serum and before my moisturizer every night after cleansing my face.
M O I S T U R I Z E R | The winner of my favorite moisturizer is this renewing collagen and elastin moisturizer! I typically buy this at Walmart or on Amazon and it's so cheap! I am on my third container since February and I love this product so much. I actually use it as all-over moisturizer because I love the texture and how it makes my skin feel. I use this every morning and every night!
F A C I A L S P R A Y | I discovered this facial spray back in January and it's been a steady part of my skincare routine ever since. I love using the rosewater scent as a setting spray after I put my makeup on and I also use it to refresh my makeup during the day. I love the lavender scent to spray on my face after I moisturize at night. I think this product is also going to be great for keeping my skin feeling hydrated during the summer while we are spending time outdoors in the sunshine. I also used it on my skin to help soothe sunburn too!
M A S K | I try to do a facial mask at least once a week but I typically try for twice. I have used so many different kinds but I find myself going back to this one. This little jar lasts for months, even with doing two masks per week because a little goes a long way. I love how my skin feels afterwards!
P I L L O W C A S E | And lastly, this pillowcase is my latest addition to my budget friendly skincare routine! A pillowcase? Yes, you read that correctly. A satin pillowcases is non-absorbent, so it helps your skin maintain maximum moisture. They also help prevent wrinkles and allows you to wake up with smooth skin (instead of pillow induced wrinkles on your face). I have been using this pillowcase for over a month and I love it (my husband does too)!
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great day!
