Kendra Gives Back

Hey y'all! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! This past Saturday, I went to Raleigh with my boss and friend, Pam, for our Kendra Gives Back event at the North Hills Kendra Scott store! In case you haven't heard of Kendra Scott here's a little background information from the Kendra Scott website:

You do good.

Three small words became the inspiration behind the dream that would change my life forever…

As a young mom, I began designing my first jewelry collection 15 years ago with $500 and a dream. I wanted to build a fashion brand that put family first, pushed the boundaries of fashion and quality design, and above all stood behind the importance of giving back. The three core pillars of Family, Fashion, and Philanthropy gave my company a firm foundation that allowed us to grow into a successful fashion and lifestyle brand that stands apart from the rest. As a mother, a designer, and founder of a company made of 98% women, I am honored to say I built a business that is doing something good in the world through our beautiful designs.

Kendra Scott
Founder & CEO

Kendra Scott does good by partnering with individuals, as well as local and national charities with a good cause. They help you setup and promote an event that gives back 20% off of the sales to the cause. How awesome is that?! I have attended several Kendra Scott events so that's how I learned about this great opportunity to raise money for the non-profit organization that I work for. I am the lead STEM teacher at a free afterschool enrichment program for at-risk youth in my community called The Dream Center. We work with our students and families to help them dream big! We serve about 65 students Monday-Thursday from 3pm-6pm. During this time, we offer a snack, team play, homework assistance, engaging enrichment activities, and dinner. My own children attend the program so I know first hand just how valuable it is to our parents! We are currently funded by a grant but we are in our fourth and final year of our current grant. We are hoping to get a new grant but we are currently working very hard to find ways to keep the lights on afterschool! We provide a safe, enriching environment for our students to be in afterschool and we want to be able to continue to offer The Dream Center to our community for many years to come! It is a cause that I believe in with all of my heart!

Also, I want to say a big thank you to my fellow North Carolina blogger friend, Amy from Style & Sequins for coming out and supporting us during this event. Be sure to check out her blog. She is amazing and so beautiful!
