yard work

We are in the process of redesigning our landscaping at our house. We got a ton of plants from Josh's parents house and we our putting them to use at our house. It's totally a work in progress right now but it's starting to come together. Josh and I spent many HOT hours out in the sun this weekend. All of our hard work will really pay off next spring when all of those beautiful plants come to life.

There will be iris' and monkey grass in front of the fence.
Lilies will go on the right side.
There's our island in front. It will have a water feature eventually. Again more lilies in the empty space here.

on the move!

Julianna is on the move. She's choosing to walk more often now and gets antsy when someone is holding her unless she's tired. She's loving her freedom to explore. She still walks with her arms out like a little zombie but it's too cute. So proud of my baby girl!

Julianna's current stats:
Weight: 22 pounds
Height: about 30 inches
Teeth: 8, four on top, four on bottom. Her gums are super swollen and 2 molars are trying to poke through.

Oh in other news, Julianna loves money. She was "helping" at John and Amanda's yard sale yesterday. She saw the money and immediately had to have it. She spread a stack of it out and got really excited. She's too funny!

remember this

I have been having "remember this" moments quite often lately. What is a remember this moment? It's a moment in your life that you want to cherish forever, one that should never slip from your memory. When one of these moments happens, I close my eyes and say, "remember this." Some of these moments are just super simple things and others more monumental.

Julianna is cutting her molars right now so needless to say, she's miserable. She woke up at 4am on Wednesday morning. I brought her into bed with me. She snuggled beside me and proceeded to share with me every single word that she says. From duck to boom boom to hey. I closed my eyes, giggled, and said, "remember this, don't forget." What a simple, but special moment.

Last night, I had another. Just a really, super, simple moment. I put Julianna into her crib. Turned on her lullabies. Then I heard a little voice say, "dye dye" (she says "d" for "b" right now). Remember this. How sweet... and it definitely let mommy know that JuJu was ready to bed.

Now my goal is to start recording more of these moments. Because I want to remember this, forever.

happy birthday, joshua!

Yesterday was Josh's "21st" birthday. He says from now on, every birthday will be his 21st. He's been celebrating his 21st for quite a few years now considering he's actually 27 according to his birth certificate. He took the day off work to celebrate and hang out with his girls. I made him breakfast, we did some shopping, went out for lunch, he worked in the yard (while we enjoyed a nap), then we ended the day with a Lowes hardware trip, frozen yogurt, visit from his parents, steak, shrimp, and potato dinner while watching a movie. What a great day!

more of our 4th fun

Our friend, Jenna, posted a few more pictures from the party. The one of Julianna and I is my absolute favorite!

let freedom ring

Happy Fourth of July, yall! We celebrated America's birthday at one of the most fun 4th of July celebrations I've ever been to. Our friends from church, Ronnie and Jenna, hosted a big bash. A 25 foot water slide, inflatable slip -n- slide, yummy food, and great company! Josh, Julianna, and I all had such a wonderful time. Unfortunately Josh and I will still probably be feeling the effects of the water slide when we wake up tomorrow morning but it was so worth it! No fireworks for us this year. Julianna did great at the party but was definitely ready for bed asap... and we are too!
