brightness
We are finally enjoying some beautiful sunshine after weeks of rain and clouds. Is it just me or do cloudy days just really bring you down too?! I need sunshine and natural light! So since the sun wasn't cooperating I had bring my own brightness and Lilly Pulitzer always does just that. I typically don't wear many neon colors this time of year but last week, it was just necessary to overcome the gloom. This popover pattern is sold out but they have several other colors that are just as amazing. Perfect for blah winter days!

sunday snaps
#sundaysnaps | week in review
Monday at 3pm, we went out for fancy burgers. Eating at random times is one of my favorite parts of winter break + we didn't have to wait at one of the busiest restaurants around.
Winter break is also for sipping fancy lattes with your family at 10:30 am then visiting your sweet grandma. And how fun is this fuzzy pom pom charm?!
Wednesday we traveled to South Carolina to visit Josh's dad. This little one and I had to make a quick Wal-Mart run. She was so exhausted that she fell asleep in the cart and stayed asleep the whole time we were in there. She's just too cute when she's sleeping.
Wednesday night we enjoyed a Mexican dinner out and then went to see the holiday lights. The girls loved all of the festive displays.
On New Years Eve, we had some fun taking pictures in our cute tiaras and fun glasses. Happy 2016!
And Josh couldn't miss out on the opportunity to wear a pretty tiara!
Our New Years Day was pretty low key. Josh helped his dad paint so the girls and I went out on an adventure. His dad lives on a 30 acres of land so there's lots to explore! The girls had so much fun and I'm so glad I packed their rainboots.
That's Julianna minus 12 whole inches of hair! She has been wanting short hair for a long time so we went for it and she absolutely loves it! I haven't seen her hair this short since she was a one year old. It's such a big change but I'm excited about it... getting ready in the mornings will be so much easier! She's such a beauty!
We wrapped up our trip to South Carolina with a visit to the outlet center. We were treated to gifts that we could pick out ourselves. I scored some bargains at J. Crew Factory!

hello, 2016
Happy New Year, y'all! We are currently visiting family in South Carolina to celebrate the holidays. I thought it was only appropriate to wear my new gold sequin jacket for the occasion. I didn't go anywhere fancy but that doesn't mean you can't add some sparkle to your look for a Chick-fil-a lunch and grocery store run! Like I've said before, I love mixing casual items with glam pieces. I love the irony of laid back with fancy!
Do you have a New Years resolution? I typically don't make them because like most everyone else, I rarely stick to them. I generally pick one word that I try to live by throughout the year. I'm still trying to decide on my word for this year. But I'll update once I decide on what word really fits my goals for 2016.
