1st birthday party pictures

first Easter egg hunt

Julianna went on her very first Easter egg hunt today! I thought she was going to be at an disadvantage during the hunt because she's not walking yet and almost all of the other babies in her class are. But turns out, crawling was the way to go! The walkers had to squat down to pick up eggs but Julianna stayed on the ground and scooted herself to the eggs much faster than the others. Julianna was even sweet enough to share eggs with some of the other babies. After getting a few eggs, she decided just chewing on the candy (while still in the wrapper) was the best thing to do. We had a great time! Check out the fun:

thrifty: artwork

Last Sunday, Josh, Julianna, and I went thrift store shopping at our favorite place. We were looking for some art or a mirror for an empty wall in our living room. We didn't spot anything at first so we just looked around at the clothes. I found 4 pairs of like-new, perfect fitting capri pants, 2 tops, and never-worn pair of red wedges. Josh also found a few a great pair of pants, a dress shirt, and new polo. In the baby section, I found a super cute ruffle dress for Julianna. After those finds, we went back to look at the decor items and we found an amazing painting that matches what we already have in our living room. Love it! I LOVE thrift store shopping!

sick day

I'm not sure when our family will be 100% healthy! Last week, I fought through a terrible sinus infection. I was stubborn and didn't go to the doctor until I was miserable with a terrible earache. The pressure from the neglected sinus infection put my ear in so much pain. So 7:00 last Friday night I gave in and went to urgent care. I won't put it off next time, I won't.

Sunday afternoon, Amanda and I went to the mall to do some shoe shopping for Julianna. She needed a pair of sandals for spring time. Apparently, Julianna has super tiny feet. She wears about a size 2, infant shoe. That's pretty small for a one year old, right?! We couldn't find any good, supportive sandals for a foot that small. I think I'm going to search for some new shoes online. She isn't walking yet. She's pulling up, walking along furnture but is no where near walking. She hasn't been able to stand alone yet. She's also super wobbly when I hold her hands and walk with her. Could her small feet be getting her off balance???

And yesterday, I got a call at work that Julianna had an upset stomach. By 3:30, I got another call that I needed to come get her. I took her to the doctor for her upset stomach and elevated temperature and ended up finding out she had an ear infection! Goodness gracious... can we please get healthy?? All of us! So today, we're taking a sick day. Getting ourselves all better and refreshed. Hopefully we'll be good as new tomorrow and back in action. But today is devoted to relaxation!

sweet springtime

Oh, how I love spring! Fall and spring are the best time of the year. They are such transitional seasons and a little bipolar. The weather isn't consistent this time of year but I like it. Provides variety in activities and wardrobe. I like bipolar weather! :)

Julianna loves the warm spring afternoons... especially Sunday afternoons. For the past 3 weeks, we have gone over to John and Amanda's for Sunday afternoon relaxation and dinner. Julianna always has a great time over there with tennis balls, pots, wooden spoons, and of course, toilet paper. John and Amanda got a new camera so they've had a blast using our precious girl for photos. Julianna is a ham so she doesn't mind at all!

She's still not walking but she is constantly pulling herself up and with ease now. She loves to climb all over anyone who is sitting on the floor beside her. She doesn't stand alone yet but she'll do a cute wobbly walk when you hold her hands.

The past 2 weeks she has also had issues with being alone. At daycare she does well because there are always so many adults and babies around but at home she has a fit if she's left alone. By alone I mean, mommy is on the couch and Julianna is with her toys on the floor beside the couch. She wants us to be right beside her at all times. She screams until someone either picks her up or gets on the floor with her. I'm hoping this phase packs it's bags and leaves soon. I don't like an angry baby!

Julianna has got two more teeth with the past week. Her teeth and gums have been giving her a fit. Can all of her teeth just magically appear at once? That would be fabulous!
