Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a great weekend! I really meant to write this post and share it with y'all yesterday but we were so busy prepping for the week and I was just so exhausted that blogging wasn't a priority. Social media all together wasn't at the top of my list this weekend. It was really refreshing to just put my phone away and just focus on what's happening right in front of me. As much as I love sharing my life and style here on the blog and on Instagram, spending time making memories with my little family always is my top priority.
So, now that we are all back into our regular school and work routines, I did want to share about our weekend trip to the Great Wolf Lodge since I've had lots of questions about how we liked it. We visited the Great Wolf Lodge located in Concord, North Carolina so it's was less than an hour and a half from where we live. Several of the questions I got were about the cost of going there. It can definitely get pricey! Between the dining packages, activity plans, and themed rooms, the cost can really add up. But if you know me at all, you know that I do pretty much everything at the best price possible. Great Wolf Lodge consistently has great deals and promo codes available so I would recommend signing up for their e-mail list if you are planning a visit. Also, Groupon occasionally runs deals there as well so definitely hunt down the best price before booking. We personally didn't buy a dining package or any of the activity packages because we wanted to spend the majority of our time enjoying the waterpark because that's what our girls were most excited about.
When we checked in, the girls were given the cutest wolf ears to wear during our stay. Since we were there to celebrate Olivia's sixth birthday, she got these fun birthday themed ears. The staff was amazing (reminded me a lot of Disney) and told her Happy Birthday when she had them on. She absolutely loved it and it made her feel so special!
We picked the Standard Family Suite for our family of four and we loved our accommodations. Our room wasn't anything fancy but it was perfect for us. My husband and I shared a comfortable king size bed and the girls slept on the sleeper sofa with no issues. Our room was very spacious and I would definitely recommend it for families!
The waterpark was definitely our favorite part of our stay and we spent hours enjoying it! On the day you arrive, you can go into the waterpark as early as 1pm, even before it's time to check in to your room. The indoor waterpark area is great for everyone from the littlest of kiddos to adults. There is something for everyone! Our girls absolutely loved it all but my favorite was definitely the waterslides. Julianna was able to ride everything and Olivia was able to ride all of the slides except for one. My husband and I couldn't believe how much our calves hurt from walking up the stairs to the waterslides so many times over the weekend! It was a great leg workout, lol! But, the smiles and laughter (and good sleep) from our girls was all worth it. I love experiencing new things with them!
There's also an outdoor pool that we all loved! The girls didn't want to leave the outdoor area and we ended up having great weather for playing outside. I thought it was going to rain all weekend but we ended up with warm weather and quite a bit of sunshine!
We didn't purchase any of the activity packages but we did spend some time in the amazing arcade area. Our girls loved playing the girls... and my husband and I did too! I'm always a kid at heart when I go into an arcade. I want to play all of the games! The girls also loved meeting the characters and the daily story time in the main lobby area.
One of my other favorite things during our stay was the Dunkin' Donuts breakfast delivery! For a $3.00 delivery fee, you can get your coffee and donuts (plus other breakfast goodies) delivered straight to your room! I did this on Saturday morning and really regretted not doing it on Sunday morning when I had to wait in line for 45 minutes to get coffee. If the Great Wolf Lodge you stay at offers this service, definitely take advantage of it!
A few other tips we learned during our visit... bring your own water bottle or bottled water. Water is three dollars a bottle there but you have a refrigerator in your room to keep your own cold. You will save lots of money by bringing your own drinks and snacks! Check out early. If you sign up to check out early, you will get a coupon for a free locker rental at the waterpark plus a free large pizza. Share food. We always share food and it helps us save so much money everywhere. My kids end of wasting so much if they get their own plate so we often have them split a plate at dinner and my husband and I do this as well when we aren't super hungry. Don't worry about bringing towels or life jackets or puddle jumpers. Great Wolf Lodge is always fully stocked with towels in your room and at the waterpark plus they have life jackets and puddle jumpers for kiddos to use. Also, there are bars for the grownups in several locations at the indoor and outdoor water areas. I was actually surprised by this so if you were curious, there's your answer, lol.
Overall, we had an amazing weekend! I also had questions about whether we would go back again and the answer is definitely yes! It was such a fun family experience and I can't wait to plan our next visit. I loved getting to enjoy the waterpark and all of the other great activities then just walk straight to our room to relax and rest. We loved the Great Wolf Lodge!
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great day!
