fashion: dots + tassels

I'm officially off of work for the summertime. It was a bittersweet "so long" yesterday at work because I will miss seeing those kids every afternoon. I truly love my job and I am blessed to have the opportunity to work at The Dream Center. I am hoping that God will provide and we will be able to be open next year. It's such a wonderful program that has positively impacted so many families in our community.

Today, I took the girls to Mother's Day Out for the first time. It was a win/win situation. They got to play non-stop with kids their age and mommy got to run errands, exercise, and have lunch solo. It was a good break for us all. Julianna is already asking to go back another day. Great morning for all.

I picked out a few of my favorites and put them all together for today's outfit. Happy Friday!

Happy Friday! This outfit was inspired by this adorable pineapple top. I am loving the pineapple trend this season. It's so fun! I added in pops of gold for a casual and cute summer look. Shop this look via the the links below. I hope you have a great weekend!

fitness + fashion: walking + shorts

Today I am 51% complete with my challenge to walk 30 miles in 30 days. The biggest part of the challenge is that I am walking daily with my two girls and a double stroller in tow. In the first 15 days, I have walked pretty much every single day for at least one mile. I am pretty proud of myself for making it this far and staying on track. I am not a runner and honestly, I do not enjoy exercise but I want to be a good role model of healthy habits for my children. I already feel better, more toned, and stronger just half way through. I have until June 21 to make it to 30 miles and at this point, I hope to make it there before then. Motivate yourself by setting a goal and go for it!

And now for some fashion. I chose the hottest time of the year so far to start my challenge. It's been in the eighties all week so it's shorts weather and it's here to stay. These shorts are my favorite pair that I own. They have a mom friendly 5 inch inseam so they aren't too short or too long. So comfortable and affordable! And this style of shorts is on sale for only $12 right now! Click the link at the bottom!

fashion: floral + stripes

I love this fun, floral top from Forever 21. I had to go in there in make an exchange. My husband and girls were in tow so I couldn't really take my time. I had to quickly pick something that I wouldn't want to return later. I spotted this top and it was love at first sight. It's flowy and floral. It's modest and mommy friendly. Perfect for me. This is pretty much one of the most comfortable outfits I have put together. I love it!

fashion: Sunday style

This Sunday consisted of two outfits. One for church and one for cleaning/cooking/community group. The dress I wore to work is one of my favorites. It washes up perfectly and requires no ironing! No ironing is a big win for me. I threw on some colorful shoes and gold accessories to complete the look.

My second look was all about comfort. I was cooking for a friend who just had a baby and cleaning to prepare for our community group meeting at our house. It was also "Pineapple Shirt Day" on Instagram so I had to participate with my new pineapple shirt that I scored in the little girls' section at Target. It's just too cute!

fashion: retro floral

I have had my eye on this pattern since last summer. J. Crew put out so many adorable items in this pattern but they weren't in my budget. This spring, J. Crew Factory had the same pattern in much more affordable pieces. As soon as I saw these shorts, I knew I had to have them. I waited for them to go on sale for 50% and they only had two sizes left. Mine was one of them. Woo hoo! I'm so excited to add these gorgeous shorts to my wardrobe. They were worth the wait!
