sunday snaps

#sundaysnaps | week in review

This week was even busier for me than I have been since summer camp ended. I went back to work for staff training. I am so excited for the 2015-2016 year to start on Monday. We have an amazing staff {and students, of course}. I think it's going to be the best year yet!

Rainboots were on heavy rotation this week. Non-stop rain but this was my favorite outfit from the week.

Olivia loves snapping pictures with my phone. Wednesday morning she captured about 20 photos of this exact same spot.

We got a taste of some sunshine on Wednesday and my feet got a break from rainboots only to get a spider bite. My foot got so swollen and itchy. So scary! Thankfully it's all better now.

I currently am loving collecting pumpkins for our fall decor. I picked up this sparkly little one at Hobby Lobby this week. It was love at first sight.

I got to lead a STEM {science, technology, engineering, and math} activity at our staff training. We used these random objects to get a ball from one table to another without touching it.

We completed our October family project for Julianna's class. I'm pretty sure we will be finding purple glitter around our house for many days to come!

One of favorite things about fall is the gorgeous leaves. It's like all natural confetti.

How cute is this little ballerina!? She is loving her ballet and tumble class.

Since the fall festival got rained out, we found some fun indoors this weekend. The girls got to do the indoor trampolines at the mall and they loved it!

They also got to take a ride on the carousel. Lucky little girls.

We had dinner at our favorite spot and this burger was so good. Six ounce hamburger patty with lettuce, fried green tomato, bacon, fried egg, and pimento cheese on the most delicious bun. Worth every single calorie!

I didn't leave my house dressed warmly enough for the weather so I bought a vest at Old Navy and found the cutest faux suede skirt. I have been on the hunt for one and this one is perfect.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

thrifty: spring break

I don't have to work this week because the kids are on spring break.. I only work part- time (about 15 hours per week) so I'm mostly a SAHM but I work at an afterschool program at my church as a teacher. I love the balance of being a mom and spending tons of time with my girls and getting to leave a few hours a day to teach and work with other children. I'm so blessed! But I have loved not having to be anywhere at a certain time this week.

I took the girls to the zoo on Monday... the start of the spring season (and an absolutely gorgeous day!) and oh my goodness, it was packed! We only stayed for about 2 hours but we had a great time! And I'm pretty sure, even with the crowds of people, I was the only one wearing neon skinnies...

thrifty: back to work outfits

This week, I officially went back to work for the 2011-2012 school year. Technically, I've been back to work since August 1 for meetings and professional development but this was the first official week of teacher workdays. I'm super excited about school starting! I have soooo many fun ideas and I can't wait to meet my students! So in light of school starting, I have a few outfits to share... Monday was a t-shirt day to work in my classroom and Friday we wore our staff shirts (which are super cool, by the way) so there wasn't much thrifty-ness to show off.

And here are the outfits. Remember jewelry/watches aren't including in the jewelry total because I have no idea how much I paid for them and a lot of my jewelry was gifted to me.
