Currently Loving .186

style on a budget, mom style, summer style, nc blogger, north carolina blogger, currently loving
Happy Friday! I hope you have had a great week! We are fully embracing summer break over here by enjoying some fun in the sun (including a visit to Yogi Bear's Jelly Stone Park in the beautiful Golden Valley that I'll be sharing more about here on the blog on Monday), relaxing, and lots of family time! I'm looking forward to a trip to our favorite pizza place this weekend!

Today, I'm sharing my weekly roundup of what I'm Currently Loving! I already own some of these pieces and others are on my personal wish list. I saw Candace Read post on Instagram yesterday about her style philosophy and it really got me to thinking about what mine is. First and first most, I believe in comfort. If it doesn't feel good on my body, then I will probably never wear it. I also believe in investment pieces. I used to buy a lot of stuff that I got rid of after a season (sometimes less). But now, I invest in items that I love that I know I will get tons of use out of it. For example, I invested in a nice pair of sunglasses last year and they are still the only pair that I wear. I spent more money on them for the style and quality but that investment also helps me to take better care of them. I think it's some kind of record for me to have a pair of sunglasses for that long! I also invest in my denim, bags, and shoes. I also believe in classics, the pieces that aren't trendy and never go out of style. A white button up, a little black dress, or a striped tee. Those are also items that I seek in for their quality and ability to last through multiple seasons. Also, I love color but I love to wear neutrals because I find them much easier to mix and match. Lastly, I love basics like denim shorts and a white tee but elevated with a statement piece like a leopard print kimono. What's your style philosophy?

Which of this week's picks is your favorite?!

1. S W I M S U I T | I've shared about this swimsuit before and I have to share it again! I had tried it on and knew I really liked the fit but on our trip, I put it to the test. It totally passed the mom friendly suit test! I felt so good in this swimsuit! It's flattering yet modest. Full booty coverage. It's a total winner for me! I loved it so much that I ordered it in the leopard print while we were at the pool!

2. R I N G | I bought this ring back in March and I wear it every single day! I wear it in the shower + pool and it still looks just as good as the day I got it. It's also from an amazing company!

3. B I K E  S H O R T S | I resisted bike shorts last summer until the very end and then I broke down and bought a pair for myself. I'm totally okay if I look like my Skipper dolls from 1990s because they are so comfortable! Think: leggings but for warm weather. I love wearing them with oversized tees! This pair of from one of my favorite ethical brands.

4. B A G | I bought this bag last year and I still love it! I took off the tassels and replaced them with a fun scarf for a different look. It's a great, neutral bag for all of your summer essentials!

5. S A N D A L S | I have a thing for metallic sandals and this pair is no exception! I added them to my cart as soon as I saw them. They are also currently on sale!

6. D E N I M  S H O R T S | These shorts are a recent purchase for me and I love the fit. They are so comfortable and I loved the lived in feel... they even already have little paint splatters on them! The fit is true to size. They will get a lot of wear in the coming months!

7. T E E | I am loving tie dye but I haven't really bought any for myself because like I said above, I prefer to wear neutral colors. I am really love this cute option! This color pattern is brown but it also comes in three other great colors and it's under $20.

8. K I M O N O | How many leopard kimonos is too many?! I already own two but I'm really love this one too! They are great to throw over a tank and denim shorts or you can also use it as a swimsuit cover-up at the beach or pool. So cute and so versatile!

Thank you so much visiting! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
