Happy Tuesday! I'm back! After an incredible trip to Puerto Rico, I'm happy to be home and back into a routine. I can't wait to share more about our trip. I have so much to share! But for today, I wanted to share a quick post on how to style a slip dress three ways for summer. It's basically ninety degrees (or more) every single day right now so I am all about easy, breezy, and comfortable outfits. I ordered this little black slip dress before our trip and it was $20 well spent!
I immediately threw it on to try on and came up with three classic ways to style it for summertime. For size reference, I'm 5'5" and wearing a size small. I found the fit to be true to size. If you prefer a more relaxed fit, size up one size. Also, the straps are adjustable. These are my favorite undies to wear underneath this kind of dress and pretty much all dresses in general. They are so comfy and super affordable! I think I own ten pairs of these.
1. The first way I styled this dress was on it's own with a bralette. I went with a bralette because I just can't deal with a strapless bra. I've tried so many of them and they all annoy me, lol. A comfy bralette is just a way better option for me! I threw on a pair of sandals and this look is complete. No need to make your outfit complicated when it's hot and sticky outside. This particular bralette is so comfortable! I love wearing it with racer back tanks, too.
2. Next, I tied a t-shirt on top for a whole different look. This is one of my best hacks for getting the most out of your wardrobe. I love throwing on a t-shirt over a dress! It defines the waist and makes your dress function as a skirt. More bang for your buck! This tee is my favorite eight dollar one that I own in several colors. I have three of the white one because I wear it so much! The tee fits true to size. Grab a few; I promise you'll love it!
3. For my third style, I layered a classic white button down on top. I own a closet full of basics but can you believe I didn't already own a white button down shirt?! I realized that this was an item that I needed in my wardrobe and I found this great one for $15! I loved layering it on top of this slip dress but I think it would also look great with a denim skirt or shorts. A wardrobe staple for sure! I found the fit to be true to size; I'm wearing the size four for reference.
Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you have a great day!
