Transitioning Into Spring in Stripes and a Utility Jacket

Hey y'all! I hope your week is off to a great start! Mine was a busy start to the week but that's pretty much how every single Monday goes for me. My husband left for the Dominican Republic this past Saturday on a mission trip with our church. They are building a house for a family with Casas por Cristo. He's been going on these mission trips for over seven years and this year he is the mission trip coordinator. I'm so proud of him and I love his passion for serving! I hope to be able to go on a mission trip one day but my goal would be to go to an orphanage or visit a school in another country.

Today, I'm sharing a look for transitioning into spring. It's hard to tell what season it actually is here in North Carolina but it's for sure been a rainy season. Even on days when it's supposed to be sunny, it eventually rains sometime during the day. I can't wait to see what kind of flowers bloom this spring from all of this abundant rain!

Okay, enough weather talk. Back to the outfit! I did a little shopping and picked up a few pieces that are great to wear now and later. Stripes will always and forever be my favorite. You just can't go wrong! I picked up this cute top over the weekend and it's perfect for high waisted denim. I also really love the tie detail! I found the fit to be true to size:

I paired it with the utility jacket that has been on my wish list for so long. I ripped the old jacket that I had so it was time to invest in a new one. A utility jacket is such a closet staple! You can literally wear into every season. I found that this one ran just a little bit small so I sized up one size:

These jeans are my current favorite! I have another pair in this same fit but they have much more distressing than this pair. I love that these are distressed but not too much. They are 100% cotton and a true denim so they require some breaking in. Stick with your normal size and they will fit so good after a couple of wears:
