Mixing and Matching

Happy Friday! I hope you have all had a great week! This has been an incredibly busy week for me because work started back up. I'm the Lead STEM Teacher at a faith based afterschool enrichment program for at-risk youth in my community. I love my job and the opportunity to mentor + teach these amazing kids! My oldest daughter also attends the program so it's awesome having her there as well.

Today, I am sharing an outfit that I wore to church this past Sunday. I kind of have a thing for pattern mixing, especially with leopard. I also having a thing for mixing and matching! My biggest secret for successful pattern mixing is to pick one color in your pattern and find another pattern that also contains that color. Black is always the easiest color to choose and you'll have always come up with a successful pattern mix.

I wanted to wear this floral dress that I've shared before but I changed up the shoes and accessories because I rarely wear things exactly the same way again. Making a whole new look out of a dress (or other item) that I've worn before is part of what I love most about style. It's a creative process for me and I love it. This time, I decided to wear this dress with my new leopard flats and a faux leather moto jacket for the air conditioning inside because it most certainly wasn't a necessity outdoors that day (but fall seems to finally be arriving now).

I hope y'all have a great weekend! I've got plans to hopefully check another fall bucket list item off of my list (as long as the weather cooperates with me)!
