Instagram Roundup

Happy Wednesday! Today, I'm rounding up photos from Instagram last week. You will see that I am literally wear some of the same items over and over. When I love something, I wear it constantly!

I have been wearing this poncho with everything lately! It's such a great layer to throw on top of a long sleeve or short sleeve tee.

How cute are they peep toe ankle boots!? They are a fantastic look for less option! I loved a super similar pair that cost over $100 but they are beauties are less than $35!

This vest has also been on heavy rotation in my closet. I think I wear it again every single time it's clean. It's so super soft! I sized up one size for the best fit.

Who else dreads the hair washing and drying process?! It's so time consuming and I would much rather just be drinking coffee instead. These hair towels have cut my drying time in half!

Look, there's what poncho again (and I'm actually wearing it right now as I type this). I wore it over an all black outfit and I loved this cozy look!

Back in December during our trip to Disney, a bottle of medicine spilled in my backpack and ruined my other leather wallet. I recently purchased this one and it's the best. One of my friends told me that her wallet just like this has latest her over 12 years!

Ignore the dust on my mirrors (who has time for dusting?!) and just focus on the outfit, lol. I love these basic long sleeve ties. They are slightly oversized so they are so perfect for tucking and knotting like I did in this look.

This cozy pullover has finally been restocked in some sizes and colors! I sized up one size for a more relaxed fit and a longer length.

And there's the vest again, too. It's just an easy layer to throw over these perfect swing tees (I have them in black and pink).

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

How to Wear Denim on Denim

denim on denim, style on a budget, north carolina blogger, mom style, how to wear denim together

Hey y'all! Today is all about denim! I have worn some variation of today's outfit so many times because chambray and denim is my go-to when I don't know what to wear. It's an easy outfit for me because a chambray shirt is a classic, closet staple as well as dark skinny jeans. Both of these pieces get so much wear! I have worn almost this exact outfit twice in the past two weeks. Once with leopard flats and also with neutral ankle boots. Almost every single time I wear this outfit, someone will tell me either on Instagram or in real life that they love my outfit but they couldn't pull off denim on denim. But you can and I'm sharing a few tips to pull this double denim look off with ease.

1. Pair light and dark washes together. I always choose denim pieces that are distinctly different in color so that it doesn't look too matchy matchy. So if I'm wearing dark jeans then I'll wear a light chambray top and if my jeans are a light wash then I would pair it with a dark denim top.

2. Keep it simple. Denim on denim is a statement in itself so I always keep my shoes neutral (yes, leopard is a neutral) and my jewelry minimal.

3. Be confident. This particular tip is relevant to any and every outfit that you put on. Whether it's your flannel pants and tee to lounge around the house. Your workout gym for a trip to the gym. The most gorgeous little black dress and high heels. Whatever you wear, remember you are beautiful, you are loved, and you are enough. True beauty and confidence always shines from within.

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well. Psalm 139:14

Universal Thread at Target

Hey y'all! I hope you all had a great weekend! It's no secret that I am a big fan of Target. I make at least a weekly trip there to see what's new. Back in 2017 when they announced that they would be getting rid of some of their old brands and new lines would be coming, I was a little unsure about it. I am such a creature of habit and change isn't always my favorite. I loved the A New Day line and when I saw the preview for the new Universal Thread line, I knew these changes were for the good. The Universal Thread collection is full of great basics that can be mixed and matched. This collection is for all women because it comes in a variety of sizes and inseams to get your best fit. Also, the denim is made out of recycled cotton and they are made to hold their shape!

I have literally been stalking this collection online since mid-January so I was so excited to finally see it all in person at my Target store. I did a quick try on to show you how some of the pieces fit but I also want to share all of my favorites from Universal Thread. Can y'all tell I am really excited for this line!? So much of it reminds me of Madewell except everything is super budget friendly! Everything I tried on fit me true to size. All of the tops are a size small and the jeans are a 4/27 for reference. I also found the two pairs of shoes that I purchased to be true to size as well.

Currently Loving

currently loving, style on a budget, north carolina blogger, casual style, friday finds

Happy Friday, y'all! I hope you've all had a great week! Today I'm sharing my weekly roundup of what I'm currently loving. I found so many cute things this week and it was so hard to narrow it down to just eight! All of these items are at the top of my wish list!

Which of this week's picks is your favorite?!

1. Overalls | I cannot believe I am sharing a pair of overalls because I always said I would never wear a pair of them again. But, this pair is just different. I absolutely love the skinny fit! They would be so cute dressed down with sneakers or dressed up with wedge sandals this spring.

2. Leopard Sneakers | How cute are these sneakers?! Leopard is my absolute favorite print and I love everything about this pair of shoes.

3. Convertible Cardigan | This is such a versatile cardigan! It is designed to be worn either open with a tee or tank and flowing or crisscrossed and snapped up for an infinity scarf look. I love the classic gray but it also comes in two other great colors as well.

4. Love Tee | I'm currently loving graphic tees again and J. Crew as so many cute ones right now! I love this love themed one for Valentine's Day but the wine lover in me also really loves this one, too!

5. Tote | I love a great tote, especially when it's from Sole Society. This one is such a great neutral color and would be perfect for year round use.

6. Twist Back Top | This top is so fun! I love the twisted detail on the back that tacks your basic tee up a notch. I would pair this with high waisted denim!

7. Bangle | Simple bracelets and bangles are my favorite. I love stack them together to create an easy arm party. This adorable bangle is only $15!

8. Chambray Shirt | Every woman needs a classic chambray shirt in her closet. It's such a timeless item! I love pairing my chambray with denim in a shade darker or lighter than my shirt. I'll be picking up this budget friendly one right away!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

The Greatest Showman and a Trip to Italy

Happy Thursday! This past Saturday, we had a family date to the movies and out to dinner. It feels like forever since we have taken our girls to the movies. Honestly, most movies that are geared towards kids are so boring to me and make me want to go to sleep so I was waiting for a good family friendly film to go see that we would all equally enjoy. I had heard so many good things about the movie The Greatest Showman so we headed to Greensboro to see it. My husband's only request was that we go to a theater that has reclining seats, lol. So I literally just googling reclining theater seats in Greensboro and found Red Cinemas. This particular theater was a great choice! The decor was amazing (see the photo of the gorgeous wine glass chandelier below) plus they served a variety of beer, wine, and espresso. The seats were as soon as they sounded online! This was actually my first reclining, comfy seat movie theater experience and it's going to be really hard to sit in a regular sit at the movies again. I would definitely recommend Red Cinemas!

As for the movie, The Greatest Showman was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time! The acting, the dancing, the music... it was all amazing. The soundtrack has already been on repeat! Several people asked me about taking my kids to this movie (they are seven and five) and I would definitely recommend this as a family friendly movie. My girls were totally engaged during the entire movie and Julianna already knows most of the words to all of the songs. There is a small fight during the movie and some alcohol usage but my girls didn't get frightened or bothering by anything during this movie, which I think is important to note because some PG movies aren't appropriate for them.

After the movie, we headed to Cugino Forno for dinner. This place is literally like taking a quick trip to Italy! The dough is made fresh there and the pizza's are cooked in a wood-fired oven. All of their ingredients comes straight from Italy! We had the Livorno pizza this time (we added ricotta cheese because it's my favorite), the Lucce salad, and cannolis! Everything was so incredibly delicious and tasted so fresh. I am still thinking about those cannolis! I could eat a couple of them all by myself. They also serve gelato in many flavors and have they have an adorable Italian cafe onsite. We got free coffees by showing them our receipt from our dinner purchases! If you are local to Greensboro, you have to try this little piece of Italy because it is amazing!
