Tulip Picking at Dewberry Farm

Hey y'all! I haven't really shared anything besides my weekly Currently Loving posts here on the blog. Now, that we are a month into this being at home all of the time thing, I think I have a better handle on it. Honestly, the first two weeks of doing school at home and being with my kids 24/7 had my head spinning. It was all just overwhelming. I'm still overwhelmed here or there but I feel more at peace with the current situation now. I've found that an equal balance of busy (working, blogging, organizing, school work, and cleaning) and rest (unplugging, going on a walk, laying on the couch, napping, bubble bath, etc.) is what's working for me. We'll see how I feel next week when Spring Break is over and we are back at the school work!

Today, I wanted to share some photos from our mini field trip to Dewberry Farm. A few weeks ago, we went there for tulip picking. It was so incredibly beautiful! Flowers are one of my favorite things. They just make me happy! I had always wanted to go tulip picking and was so excited when I was able to get tickets for us to go. It was an impulse decision to go so I was really not prepared and this is very unlike me, haha! So, first of all, I should have brought legit clippers. I brought nothing for clipping our tulips! Thankfully, I had the worlds smallest pair of scissors in my car. They are literally the tiniest scissors ever but they worked. Also, I didn't bring a basket. I will definitely bring one next time. Lastly, we should have worn rainboots because it rained the night before. Our shoes were a muddy and grassy mess when we finished! Lessons learned.

Each tulip we picked was $1 and then we wrapped them up ourselves to take home. Before we left, we visited the farm animals they have onsite. The girls also had to take a turn on the tree swing! This is such a great, family friendly experience and I'm really hoping to go back in July for sunflower picking. If you are local, add Dewberry Farm to your must see list!
