Hey there! I hope you're having a day great day! I had planned to write a completely different post today but I feel like something different has been laid on my heart to share. So some of you may stumbled across this blog post because you saw the link I shared on Facebook, you were searching for some style inspiration on Google, or you are one of my Style Collective sisters showing your support by leaving a comment. Whatever the case may be, I hope that you find something positive and encouraging to take away from this post.
Yesterday, I came across a post where a woman was sharing that she didn't feel like she deserved to celebrate her birthday because she hadn't achieved what she wanted to in her career just yet.
I just wanted to reach through my computer screen and give her the biggest hug (and I'm not a hugger) to tell her that she is good enough and her birthday is so worthy of being celebrated! You deserve to be celebrated, whether you've reached your goals or not. You are enough.
As a wife, mom, teacher, friend, and blogger, I have often had moments in my life that I felt like I wasn't good enough. I wasn't patient enough, I wasn't smart enough, or I wasn't thin enough. I have compared myself to others (especially in the blogging world) and comparison is definitely a joy thief. I have often based my value on my accomplishments or how many followers I have. But really, none of that is important. You are loved. You are valued. You are enough. Always celebrate, eat cake often, be confident, spread kindness, treat yourself, and remember your true worth is found in Jesus Christ.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV
