Currently Loving

style on a budget, currently loving, what to buy for spring, north carolina blogger

Happy Easter Weekend! Our spring break has officially begun and I'm looking forward to a week of no alarm clocks, homemade waffles for breakfast, and lots of fun. I'm thankful that this year my spring break is the same week as my girls so that we get to spend lots of quality time together!

Today, I'm rounding up what I'm currently loving and honestly, it was really hard to narrow it down to just eight picks this week. I found so many cute, budget friendly items for spring and summer this week! I think that straw bag has got to be my absolute favorite!

Which of this week's picks is your favorite?!

1. Dress | I love a good swing dress and this one is so perfect for spring. Throw on a denim jacket for cooler mornings and you are good to go!

2. Bag | Like I mentioned above, this bag is my favorite pick this week! I love the structured style of this straw bag and the cute tassels add the perfect pop of color.

3. Denim Skirt | I have been hunting for a great denim skirt for spring and summer. This one is high on my list! I love it!

4. Gray Tee | Is there such a thing as too many gray tees?! I certainly hope not because I gray tees are my weaknesses. I might have close to too many but I think I need this one too.

5. Gingham Top | Gingham print is a classic. Every spring, I feel like it pops back up everywhere and I'm glad because it's one of my very favorite prints. This shirt is on my wish list!

6. Jeans | I love a good pair of boyfriend jeans and the hem on this pair makes them different from any pair that I already own. Old Navy has been my go-to for denim lately!

7. Jelly Sandals | I have wanted a pair of these jelly sandals for awhile and I love this pretty rose gold pair! They are too cute!

8. Wrap Top | A wrap top is always a flattering choice and this one is less than $20 plus it comes in several different colors. Such a great throw on and go top to pair with white jeans or jean shorts!

I hope you have a great weekend! Happy Easter!

Beauty Haul

beauty haul, beauty on a budget, beauty products

Happy Thursday! Today is all about beauty products! I love trying new products but I also love sharing products that I have used for a long time that I still use now. This beauty haul that I am sharing today is a mix of items that I just restocked and a few things that are brand new for me. I am so excited about these beauty products!

CC Cream | I've seen several of my favorite ladies to follow share about this CC cream on Instagram and I have been wanting to give it a try. I love my budget friendly L'Oreal BB Cream but I have been on the hunt for a BB/CC cream that worked for my skin plus protected it with SPF. I recently tried the crowd favorite It Cosmetics CC Cream. I did love all of the benefits but it just wasn't a perfect fit for my skin plus I couldn't stand the way it smelled. I decided to try this Erborian CC Cream but it was sold out at every retailer I found in the shade Clair that I needed my skin tone. I was ready to give up on the search until I decided to try eBay and I found it! I purchased the small trial size option to give it a try. This cream provides skin protection (SPF 25) while evening out your skin tone. I've been using it for three days and so far I am loving it! It comes out white but as soon as you put it on your face, it blends into your skin tone for a perfect match. There's also no weird smell. I'll keep y'all posted on how I like it after a month or so. I have a good feeling about this one!

Mascara | I have been using the L'Oreal Lash Paradise for over a year and I still love it (especially for the price) but I absolutely love trying out new beauty products. This It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara has been on my "must try" list for awhile and I decided to go for it since I needed a new tube of mascara anyways. I have used it once and wow! You only need one coat of this magic mascara. Adds volume and length to your lash instantly.

Hair Ties | Yes, you have seen me post these hair ties quite a few times in the past couple of months. I haven't used any other hair ties since I discovered them because they work so well and don't pull my hair out like other ones do. I purchased this pack of the clear strong grip ties to use in my daughter's hair. I love them so much for myself so I'm excited to see how they work for them. They wear their hair in ponytails on a daily basis so they need good hair ties.

Facial Spray | This is also a product that I've tried before but I decided to try it in a different scent this time. I love the rosewater version so I picked up this one with lavender to use before bedtime. It smells so good!

Serum | I have been hunting for a great moisturizer for awhile but then I realized what I might be missing is a great face serum to use before I apply a moisturizer. This serum is budget friendly and smells so good! It leaves my skin feeling so hydrated! I'll also give y'all an update on this serum once I've used it for at least a month.

Eyeliner | This eyeliner is restock and an item that I have literally been using since I was 19 (and that's well 13 years ago). It was the first eyeliner that I ever tried and it's still my favorite. It comes on smoothly and lasts all day long plus it's super inexpensive!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

Instagram Roundup

style on a budget, spring style, what to buy for spring, mom style, style on a budget

Happy Wednesday! Every since I became a mom, especially when my kids started going to school and have other extracurricular activities, I really feel like there's just not enough time in a day! A few weeks ago I decided that I've got to find a way to prioritize my tasks so I can get more done in a day! I only work part-time so I don't know how full-time working mommas do it! I always skip the gym on Tuesday mornings so I get things done at home with no husband or kids at the house but I find myself getting so distracted. One thing has been working for me is setting timers on my phone for how long I get for specific tasks. For example, I set a 15 minute timer to clean the kitchen and it was basically a race against myself to get it all done before the timer went off. I also set timers for "brain breaks" where I could mindlessly look at my Instagram feed or watch a little TV. So far this has been helping but I would love to know if you have any good time management tips that work for you. Also, I'm trying to give myself some grace and remember that I can't do it all!

Today, I'm sharing my weekly roundup from Instagram! I'm loving my neutral colors with pops of pink and purple for spring. What is your favorite color for springtime?!

I Bought This Peplum Tee, Again

style on a budget, north carolina blogger, what to buy for spring, style style

Hey y'all! I hope your week is off to a great start! Today, I'm styling this peplum in second color! Yes, I bought this peplum tee, again. I originally shared it last month in the gray color in this blog post but I loved it so much that I had to get it in a second color. When I love something (and find myself reaching for it over and over), I buy it again! The gray option in this is listed as black on the website but it's a true gray. This time, I bought the mauve color and it's a gorgeous pinkish purple, which is my favorite color for spring! It's just such a happy color!

It's still been pretty chilly here in North Carolina so I have been wearing this tee with either my denim jacket on top or a cozy cardigan. The comfort of the tee makes it's perfectly casual but the peplum style elevates the look. It fits oversized so stick with your normal size for the best fit. For size reference, I'm wearing a size small. Also, I must mention that I am not always a fan of peplums top because some of them can make you look bigger than you really are. Not this one. The fabric lays perfectly and I love the flattering neckline. It's a winner for sure!

Spring Shoes on a Budget

style on a budget, target style, spring shoes, what to buy for spring, north carolina blogger

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! Ours was full of fun and food, as usual plus we even got some snow. I seriously can't believe this strange weather we have been having this March. It was in the seventies in February and it's been freezing this month. I think February and March must have just switched places this year!

Lately, I have been on a shoe kick and this pretty much happens every spring. Spring and summer shoes are just the best! Today, I'm rounding up eight pairs that I either own or just really love! Bonus: all of these shoes are from Target and they are currently on sale for buy one get one half off. Such a great deal! This sale includes all women's, men's, and children's footwear. Grab a pair for yourself and get a pair for someone else for half off!

The three pairs below are three of my most recent Target shoe purchases and I love them all! The rose gold sandals fit true to size (I typically wear an 8.5 and the 8 worked for me), the slides are also true to size (even prettier in person- I love the embellishments), and platform mules are a great neutral heel (plus they are surprisingly easy to walk in and true to size).
