Currently Loving + Giveaway

currently loving, what to buy for fall, giveaway, kendra scott, mom style, north carolina blogger

Happy Friday! I hope you have all had a great week! Today, I'm rounding up eight items that I am currently loving. I have been adding pieces to my closet that I can wear now and later when it actually feels like fall. It's been in the eighties where I live this week! Also, don't miss the awesome giveaway at the end of this post! Hint: you can win one of my favorite picks from this week!

1. Camo Jacket | I have been hesitant to add any camo to my closet because it's a little out of my comfort zone. But I love the look of this jacket! I think it would look adorable over a t-shirt dress or with a feminine blouse and skinny jeans. Plus it's currently on sale!

2. Striped Dress | I love finding good basics for great prices! This dress is less than $13 and would look so cute with the jacket above.

3. Oversized Sweater | Another great piece for a steal! This sweater fits oversized (which I am loving right now) and comes in three pretty colors. So perfect for fall and winter!

4. Jeans | I already own these jeans and the fit is great! I love the frayed hem and the dark wash.

5. Ankle Boots | I haven't bought a new pair of neutral ankle boots a couple years so I have been on the hunt for a great pair that I could wear on a daily basis. I love the color of these and I love the easy to walk in heel height!

6. Off the Shoulder Sweater | I just bought this sweater this week and I can't wait to get it in the mail! The reviews are amazing and I love the off the shoulder style. I plan to wear it with my favorite bralettes and leggings for an easy, weekend look.

7. Earrings | How gorgeous are these new Kendra Scott earrings from their fall collection?! I love the shape and the stone is so pretty. If you love these too, make sure you check out the bottom of this post.

8. Tie Front Skirt | I don't own many skirts but this tie front skirt from Target caught my eye as soon as I saw it on the website. It would be dressed up or down and it's a great item to wear now or later when the weather gets cooler.

And now it's giveaway time!

sugarfix by baublebar, north carolina blogger, fall fashion, style on a budget, how to style leopard flats

Hey y'all! Happy Thursday! I'm already looking forward to an weekend with absolutely zero plans. I love having a weekend agenda that is full of fun but I equally love downtime and no schedule to follow.

Today, I'm styling adorable and affordable jewels from the SugaxFix by BaubleBar collection that is available exclusively at Target! Everything in this line of jewelry is super budget friendly and so cute. SugarFix let me choose two pieces from the latest styles to share with y'all and I'm so excited about my picks! I chose this Gold Filigree Pendant Necklace and the matching Filigree and Lace Cuff Bracelet in Black.  Plus each piece is under $20 (I also always use my Target Red Card to save an additional 5% off of every purchase)!

These gorgeous pieces will be the perfect finishing touch for my fall and winter outfits. I paired by SugarFix jewels with a basic olive tee, distressed denim, and leopard flats for easy, weekend look but I would also wear these pieces with a dressier look, like a little black dress. They are such versatile items! How would you style this necklace and cuff?!

Instagram Roundup

instagram roundup, north carolina blogger, style on a budget, daily outfits, fall fashion
Happy Wednesday! This school year, I have the honor of serving as the PTO President at the school my daughters attend! I've served as the Secretary the past two years and I'm so excited for this new challenge. I love being able to get involved at their school! I was a classroom teacher after I graduated from college so it's fun to be on the parent side of things now and be able to show love to the teachers (because they definitely deserve it)!

Today, I'm rounding up photos from the past week on Instagram. I have been trying to squeeze in as much wear out of some of my favorite summer pieces before they get put away for cooler weather. Like I mentioned last week, I absolutely transitional style so I am having fun styling sweaters with sandals and shorts with long sleeves for now. I also love changing up a summer look by tying a denim jacket or plaid shirt around my waist. It's great for a few reasons: it adds a pop of fall to your look, it provides a warm layer in case you need it, and it's great for preventing wardrobe malfunctions when you are wearing a dress on a windy day, lol!

The photo above from this blog post back in July inspired The Preppy Possum to create this amazing watercolor drawing below! Nikki's attention to detail is amazing and I love that she added a cup of coffee.

Charlotte Date Weekend

Hey y'all! I hope your week is off to a great start! This past weekend, my husband and I were able to take a date weekend to Charlotte, North Carolina. We were long overdue for a date night so we decided to stay in Charlotte the night before we were going to the Carolina Panthers game. My dad owns his own small business, which includes six convenience stores. He is lucky enough to get tickets to almost every Panthers home game and he invited us to join him this time. So since we were kid free on a Saturday night in Charlotte, we decided to explore a new area that we had never been to before.

We went to the NoDa, which is a popular arts district in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. It is located in the North Charlotte neighborhood on and around North Davidson Street and 36th Street, approximately one mile northeast of Uptown. This neighborhood is full of unique stores, breweries, a theater, restaurants, coffee shops, and more.

We ate at Haberdish (by the recommendation of Mallory from Style Your Senses). Haberdish is a mill town southern kitchen and craft cocktail bar. The food is so fresh and the combinations are delicious! We had the pimento cheese ball, chicken tenders, kale grits, and the sweet potato dumplings. This restaurant is a must if you are ever in the Charlotte area! It's also kid friendly.

We also visited two breweries during our visit. The first one (our favorite) was Salud Cerveceria. We absolutely loved the laid back yet artsy environment and they had a great selection of craft brews. Then we walked down the street Heist Brewery, where the beer is brewed onsite. I loved the industrial setting and the outdoor patio seating.

On Sunday morning, we were able to leisurely get ready for the day (every parent knows how exciting this is) and made a pit stop at Target before heading to the game. I realized while we were eating breakfast that I wasn't going to be able to bring my purse into the game because it was too big. It's been over ten years since we have been to a NFL game so I had completely forgotten about that. Since I had to have something to carry my essentials in, we found the perfect size crossbody at Target for ten dollars and fueled up on some Starbucks (venti pike place roast, three pumps of pumpkin, almond milk, stevia, and a sprinkle of cinnamon and nutmug is my drink of choice right now).

We thankfully had a parking deck pass so we were able to park and walk quickly to the stadium. Our seats were club level so we were able to enjoy some live music and food before the game started. I'm not a huge football fan but I love the energy and atmosphere of a football game. This particular game wasn't super exciting because there were zero touchdowns but the Panthers did come out ahead and won. I hope we will be able to go to another game this season!
