Zimmerman Vineyards

zimmerman vineyards, where to visit in north carolina, nc blogger, nc wine

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! The weather was amazing here in North Carolina. We finally had a few days where you can actually go outside and enjoy the warm weather! It's typically super humid here during the summertime and it makes it hard to even breathe outside so low eighties with low humidity was a very welcome change! I could get used to this kind of weather.

On Saturday, I stayed home most of the morning cleaning the house and taking care of things I have been putting off for about three weeks. But I was ready for a little adventure by the afternoon. We decided to take a 20 minute road trip to Zimmerman Vineyards in Trinity, North Carolina. This adorable vineyard is out in the country and the views are amazing! My husband and I visited this vineyard over a year ago and I don't know what took us so long to go back for another visit.

We did the tasting last time we were there so decided to go with our favorite from last time, the White Merlot. It's one of my very favorite wines because it isn't too sweet and it's not too heavy.

2016 White Merlot: A lively, refreshing medium-bodied wine with a depth of fresh fruit flavors balanced with good acidity.  It is a Provence style Rosé, which is not overly sweet and considered a DRY wine. Some cheeses go better with white wine, some with red; yet almost all pair well with dry rosé, which has the acidity of white wine and the fruit character of red.  Perfect hot weather drinking!

This was the perfect Saturday afternoon staycation activity. My husband and I love visiting vineyards so if you have any favorites, please share them with me!

I hope you have a wonderful day! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Currently Loving

currently loving, style on a budget, casual style, how to dress on a budget

Happy Friday! I hope you have all had a wonderful week! Today is the last day of our three week long summer day camp at work. As much as I'll enjoy some freedom and a more relaxed schedule for the next month or so, I am going to miss all of the fun and the smiles that this year of summer camp brought. I'm seriously thankful for such an awesome job!

Today, I'm rounding up eight items that I am currently loving.
Which of my picks is your favorite?!

1. Distressed Denim | I love these jeans! Old Navy is my go-to for affordable denim and I love the distressing on this pair.

2. Cinderella Cross Body | Y'all, how cute is this little cross body bag?! I am obsessed with all things Disney and I have been since I was a child. Last June, we took our girls to Disney World and I fell in love with Disney all over again. We have a surprise trip back to Disney for Christmas coming up in December and I can't wait! My girls have no clue and I can't wait to see the look on their faces when we share the news. I think I need this adorable little bag for our next trip!

3. Peep Toe Ankle Boots | I have had my eye on these boots during the whole Nordstrom sale but I haven't purchased them yet. I really do think they would be a great addition to my closet because I could wear them now with shorts and later with jeans.

4. Leopard Slingbacks | I am always on the hunt for adorable shoes with a low heel because as much as I love higher heels, they just aren't practical for my daily life. I love the leopard print and the cute buckle detail on this pair. They are currently on their way to me!

5. Link Bracelet | I absolutely love gold and silver mixed together because you don't have to choose between the two metals. This adorable bracelet is a great basic and will go with every arm party!

6. Running Shorts | I have wanted a pair of these running shorts for awhile now so when I saw that they were on sale, I had to get a pair. I wore them yesterday and I loved the fit! They don't ride up like a lot of running shorts tend to do and they are so comfortable. I would definitely recommend!

7. Statement Earrings | I love statement earrings and this pair doesn't disappoint! The pretty berry color is perfect year round and would dress up any outfit! Plus the price is amazing.

8. Striped Top | You can never ever have too many striped tops, especially when they are black and white. I love this classic style!

Rewear

style on a budget, nc blogger, casual style, how to style a cardigan, mom style

Hey y'all! Happy Friday Eve! Today I'm talking about rewear. The act of wearing something again. This may seem like a simple topic but I feel like as a style blogger I get caught up in this trap of constantly trying to purchase new items to style. But honestly, I don't impulse purchase items, especially clothing. Sometimes I have things sit in my online shopping cart for days, weeks, and even months before I buy it. If I can't envision myself rewearing an item in at least three different ways, I won't buy it. I also use the cost per wear formula to determine if something is a good purchase.

These shorts caught my eye as soon as I saw them online. I knew I had to have them so I have reworn them at least four times in the last month. I hope that when when y'all see me rewear an item, you know it's a good one that's worth purchasing. If I don't wear something again right away, I probably don't love it. I always wear what I love again as soon as possible.

So the real point of this post is to share that it's completely okay to rewear things that you love. Every single piece of this outfit were things that I purchased because I genuinely love them all. I can't get enough of this tote (I carry it almost every day),  these sandals get worn constantly, this necklace goes with everything, and I've worn this cuff over a 100 times in the past year. Buy what you love and wear it again and again and again.

Thank so much for visiting! I hope you have a good day!

Instagram Roundup

style on a budget, mom style, nc blogger, summer style
Happy Wednesday! Today's weekly Instagram Roundup contains much fewer outfits than normal because I have been living in work t-shirts and shorts during summer camp the past two and half weeks. I've barely put together a "real" outfit because of camp and the heat. It's just been way too hot and humid here in North Carolina! But today, I did include a picture from my Instagram stories because it's my very favorite summer drink: a sweet baby brown from The Table Farmhouse Bakery, one of my very favorite local places. It's a a creamy iced latte shaken with brown sugar and it's seriously delicious! It's so good!

I also wanted to share a few of my recent buys. I haven't purchased a ton of stuff lately because I have been so busy with work and family. A Target run is on my agenda this weekend!

Transitional Sweater

summer sweater, transitional style, style on a budget, how to style a sweater for summer, mom style

Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is off to a great start! Just watching some bloggers style full on fall outfits is making me sweat, lol. Y'all, it's in the nineties where I live and the thought of putting on a pair of jeans right now makes me cringe. However, I am starting to buy transitional items that I can comfortably wear now and later when the weather is actually fall outfit friendly. I bought this perfect ivory sweater a couple of weeks ago and it's definitely a transitional sweater. It's actually not that hot to wear now because of the loose fitting shape and breathable knit material.

This Loft sweater works now with jean shorts and sandals but will also be perfect for fall with skinny jeans and ankle boots. I styled it with distressed denim shorts, my favorite sandals, a statement necklace, and a neutral bag for the perfect look for a summer afternoon at the movies or anywhere else that is blasting the AC. I also must mention that the quality of this sweater is amazing for the price! Such a great addition to your closet that will be a go-to for years to come.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Painted Pineapple

summer style, j. crew style, how to style bright colors, style on a budget

Hey y'all! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Mine was honestly just way too busy and I'm personally scheduling in lots of rest for next weekend. When I woke up this morning, I already felt like I needed to take a nap, lol.

Today, I'm sharing a colorful summertime look and this gorgeous J. Crew painted pineapple top.

I wore this fun top to the Kendra Scott shopping party that I co-hosted a few weeks ago and I told the ladies that night that this top looked like summer threw up all over it. Haha... but really, it just screams summertime to me! I love pairing super colorful pieces like this one with neutral color and basics, like denim. I styled this top on the shoulder (it can also be worn off the shoulder) with mom friendly denim shorts #fiveinchinseam, neutral espadrilles, a mini straw purse, and a few jewels for this super hot weather! This top can also be dressed up with white skinny jeans and heels for a night out! This is definitely the perfect summer top.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great day!
