Painted Pineapple

summer style, j. crew style, how to style bright colors, style on a budget

Hey y'all! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Mine was honestly just way too busy and I'm personally scheduling in lots of rest for next weekend. When I woke up this morning, I already felt like I needed to take a nap, lol.

Today, I'm sharing a colorful summertime look and this gorgeous J. Crew painted pineapple top.

I wore this fun top to the Kendra Scott shopping party that I co-hosted a few weeks ago and I told the ladies that night that this top looked like summer threw up all over it. Haha... but really, it just screams summertime to me! I love pairing super colorful pieces like this one with neutral color and basics, like denim. I styled this top on the shoulder (it can also be worn off the shoulder) with mom friendly denim shorts #fiveinchinseam, neutral espadrilles, a mini straw purse, and a few jewels for this super hot weather! This top can also be dressed up with white skinny jeans and heels for a night out! This is definitely the perfect summer top.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Currently Loving

Happy Friday, y'all! It's finally Friday! Y'all, I'm not used to working full-time and I have been so exhausted the past two weeks during summer camp. I feel like I'm going to need a week long vacation to recover, lol. The beach is calling my name! I know I'm being a little dramatic but it has been great and I love my job! Two weeks of summer camp down and one to go.

Today, I'm rounding up eight items that I am currently loving. I am currently loving all things pink, rose gold, and casually comfortable!  Please let me know which of my picks is your favorite!

1. Front Tie Tank | I love this unique tank! I haven't seen a front tie top quite like this one plus it's currently on save for 40% off.

2. Statement Earrings | I am currently loving statement earrings, especially lightweight ones that have a stud closure. I just can't wear heavy earrings so these are a great option for me!

3. Pajamas | Y'all, you need to stop what you are doing and go by these pajamas! I have literally not purchased pajamas in several years but I treated myself to this pair in gray last Friday (and ordered the black a few days later). They are the most comfortable pajamas I have ever worn! They are so good and under $20! I sized up one size and the medium is so comfy. I love how they are still comfortable while looking a little more structured. A must have!

4. Embroidered Bag | This bag is like nothing I already own but I am loving the details. Such a cute statement piece to dress up a neutral look!

5. Lace Top | I have been eyeing this gorgeous lace top for a week now and I think I need it! I love the modest style and I think it would look adorable with skinny jeans for fall or a denim skirt now.

6. Slide Sandals | I shared these slide sandals on Wednesday but they are worth sharing again! They are a dupe for the more expensive ones that I currently own. I've seen these in person and they are perfect. Such a great sandal and only $25!

7. Necklace | I have this necklace in another color and it's my go-to. I am loving this gorgeous rose gold option!

8. White Tee | Anyone else have the hardest time finding a white tee that isn't sheer?! It seems like every single one that I buy is stinkin' see through and I'm not a fan of that! This one isn't sheer and it's under $16! Every women needs a great little white tee in her wardrobe.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great weekend!

Shop Stevie

mom style, style on a budget, shop stevie, how to dress for summer

Hey y'all and Happy Thursday! I might be super late to the game but I had to make a late night Wal-Mart run for shampoo and walked away with the most delicious Halo Top ice cream. Have y'all tried this stuff?! I got the birthday cake flavor and the whole carton is only 280 calories #guiltfree. Say what?! It's so yummy and full of protein. I'm going to be running back to the store for more of this deliciousness, especially since we are bread/flour free this month. I have been needing a delicious treat!

Today, I'm sharing two looks with pieces from Shop Stevie. This tassel dress is just the cutest thing ever! It's totally modest and mom friendly. I styled this midi length dress with my current favorite bag, neutral wedges, and simple jewels. I'm wearing a size small in this dress and it's so comfortable! It would also transition into cooler weather with ankle booties and a cardigan. My striped tee is also from Shop Stevie and it's such a great basic top! I love the soft material and the casual fit (I'm also wearing a size small). I paired this top with cuffed denim shorts and the perfect summer slide sandals. I also plan to wear this tee through fall with a utility jacket and skinny jeans. Shop Stevie has so many beautiful items to add to your wardrobe that will easily transition into fall!

Amanda from Shop Stevie is offering my followers 15% off of their purchase with the code EMILY15!

Thank you so much for visiting! Have a great day!

Instagram Roundup

style on a budget, mom style, how to dress for summer, nc blogger
Hey y'all and Happy Wednesday! Last weekend, I finally got the chance to stop at the most adorable flower cart. It's literally located at the end of someone's driveway on a back road. I've seen this "God's Flowers" cart several times and I always thought it was such a neat idea. The cart operates on the honor system and it's only three dollars for a dozen gorgeous flowers. I had to pick up a dozen because fresh flowers always brighten my day. Aren't they beautiful?!

I also wanted to share with you all an amazing dupe for my favorite Steve Madden sandals (I've styled them below in this Instagram Roundup). Mine retail for around $70 but I found another pair that are literally identical for less than $25! That is such an amazing deal on such a cute pair of sandals. They come in black and nude but hurry, these slides will most definitely sell out! I literally wear mine with everything from dresses to denim shorts. You need these!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Magnolia Lane

magnolia lane boutique, style on a budget, affordable fashion, nc blogger, mom style

Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is off to a great start! Like I mentioned in yesterday's post, I'm all about style on a budget. You shouldn't (and don't have to) spent a ton of money to put together a cute outfit that you feel confident in! I started sharing style inspiration here on the blog almost six years ago when I was pregnant with my youngest daughter. I shared the maternity looks that I put together by mixing items I already owned and thrift store pieces. I bought very few maternity items from "real stores" and focused my wardrobe on budget friendly, thrifted clothing. I realized that people actually enjoyed seeing the looks that I put together so I started sharing more and eventually started sharing my daily outfit via the "ootd" hashtag on Instagram. It's pretty awesome that passion for style has turned into a part-time job. And P.S. thank you so much to all of my "real life" friends (and my husband) who have always supported me... even if fashion isn't your thing.

Today, I'm styling budget friendly pieces for y'all from Magnolia Lane Boutique. Magnolia Lane is a North Carolina based boutique (yay for North Carolina girls pursuing their dreams). Y'all, everything from this boutique is under $50! The dress, kimono, and tee in this post are less than fifty dollars. I styled the dress with wedges for a dressier look but it would also be perfect with sandals or ankle boots (when the weather cools off). It's a such a great versatile basic! The kimono has the prettiest colors in it so I kept the rest of the look pretty neutral with a white tank and denim shorts. The tee made me giggle has soon as a I saw it. I think my husband would agree with "happy wife, happy life"... lol! Be sure to check out Magnolia Lane Boutique for yourself to see what's new!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great day!
