September Favorites

Happy Last Day of September! Since it's the last day of the month, I am sharing my four of my favorite outfits from September. I loved pairing dresses with boots this month and adding layers to my looks. Also, since fall is now in full swing, I am going to share my Fall Bucket List with y'all. I love creating a bucket list each season because it helps me plan out our weekend activities.

Fall Bucket List
1. Take a weekend trip to the mountains.
2. Visit the orchard to get apple cider slushies and donuts.
3. Pick a pumpkin.
4. Take a hike to see waterfalls.
5. Dress up and go trick or treating with my kids.
6. Run a 5K.
7. Build a fire pit.
8. Carve a pumpkin as a family.
9. Go to the fall festival.
10. Vote!

What is on your Fall Bucket List?

Currently Loving

Happy Thursday! Today, I am sharing eight items that I am currently loving. Shopping can sometimes be overwhelming, especially online so I've done the work for you and found eight great items that I love so much! Bonus: everything is affordable!

1. Striped Peplum | I ordered this top over the weekend and I can't wait to style it with a pop of color and black skinny jeans.

2. Wine Bag | This was another one of my weekend purchases and I'm loving this color so much right now! I can't wait to get this bag!

3. Knotted Tee | The knotted style of this tee takes it up a notch while staying comfy. It's too cute and less than $20!

4. Ankle Boots | I bought these leather ankle boots last fall and they are still in such great shape after a tons of wear. These are my favorite!

5. Pink Flats | How cute are these flats?! They would add the perfect touch of color to any outfit this season.

6. Plaid Shirt | I bought this shirt about a month ago and have already worn it three times. It's so comfortable and I personally sized up one size for more a boyfriend fit.

7. Suede Dress | This is such a pretty dress for fall! It would look so cute with a denim jacket and black over the knee boots.

8. Gray Cardigan | I can't get enough cardigans and gray is my go-to color. I think I need another cozy cardigan for the cool months ahead!

Instagram Roundup

Hey there! It's Wednesday so it's time for my weekly Instagram Roundup of outfits that I wore last week. But first, I'm going to share how I take my outfit selfies (specifically the non-mirror ones) because that is a question that I get asked very often over on Instagram. I actually didn't take many of those kind of photos this past week because it was too dark or too rainy when I needed to snap a photo of my outfit but I do prefer to take them because it really shows off the details of an outfit the best.

So here's my tips for getting the best outfit selfie...

1. Natural lighting. First thing in the morning after the sun rises (on a non-cloudy) day when there's a good amount of light and when it's not too harsh or in the evening about an hour before the sun goes down. If I can't get a good picture in natural lighting, I typically opt for the mirror selfie.

2. Use the front facing camera on your phone. I used to try to take outfit pictures with just the regular camera and I would have to take 100+ pictures to get one that wasn't terrible. When you use the front facing camera, it's so much easier to see if you've gotten your whole outfit into the frame.

3. Download Pic Tap Go. I think it's a couple of dollars but it's my favorite photo editing app that you can use for outfit selfies or to make any other photo look better. I typically use the Faux Fi filter or the Brightside filter to enhance my photos.

Have a great day, everyone!

Sweet P and Fi

Hey there! Today is all about this gorgeous striped duster cardigan from Sweet P and Fi, an affordable fashion boutique that is ran by the sweetest stay at home mom! She even named her boutique after her precious daughters. How sweet is that?! Also, since she is an online only boutique she is able to keep her prices low, which I know we all can appreciate and love!

Along with my love for dresses lately, I also really love lightweight cardigans for fall. They give you just enough warmth for those cool mornings but don't leave you nearly having a heat stroke by the afternoon. I love cardigans with dresses. I love cardigans with shorts. I love cardigans with skirts. I just really love cardigans. Can you tell? They are such a good layering piece!

I styled my Sweet P and Fi cardigan for fall with a wine (like I said yesterday, this is my current color crush) colored tank, a denim button front skirt, gold jewels, a neutral bag, and black mules. An easy, comfortable look that could be worn to church, out to dinner, or just for running errands around town (you can wear heels to the grocery store, trust me). I can also see myself wearing this cardigan for cooler weather with skinny jeans and riding boots. Give me all of the cardigans... and stripes, too!

All Tied Up

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fun and relaxing weekend! Today, I am going to be sharing part one of a three part Monday series where I style three beautiful dresses from www.Tobi.com for the fall season! I have kind of been on a major dress kick lately so I was so excited for this series. Remember my Dresses Are My Love Language post from last week- my love for dresses is strong! Throw on a dress and a pair of shoes and you are good to go.

Week one is about transitional style (long sleeves and bare legs) because the weather in North Carolina isn't exactly cool yet. I decided to style this All Tied Up shift dress from Tobi with a pair of leopard flats. I really love this color with leopard! The style of this dress is short so I opted for flats over heels since I wasn't wearing any tights or leggings with it (which would be perfect for when the weather gets cooler, just add ankle boots or riding boots). The tied up neckline of the dress is my favorite part because it's like a built in necklace. And also, let's talk about the color. Wine, maroon, burgundy, oxblood, or whatever you choose to call it, it's beautiful! It's currently my color obsession and I want everything I can find in this color! So pretty for fall and beyond.

Beauty Bag

Happy Friday! Today, I'm going to be chatting about what's inside of my beauty bag. I typically just share style inspiration here on the blog but I wanted to share some products that I love and use on a daily basis!

Maybelline Better Skin Powder | I actually just recently discovered this product in one of my Influenster boxes. I received it free to try and fell in love with it! Before this product, I would use a liquid foundation and a powder but this product takes the place of both of them. It's a smooth powder that covers as well as a foundation and powder combined! I have definitely noticed that my skin looks smoother since using it.

Naked Lip Gloss | I love the idea of lipstick but I typically just stick to using lip gloss. I have been using this particular one for years and I love it! It's long lasting and conditions my lips.

Maybelline Clear Mascara | So I have two different mascaras in my beauty bag but I don't use them both on my eyelashes. This clear mascara is for my brows. I have thick, dark eyebrows that tend to get a little unruly unless tamed. I use a thin coat of this mascara on my brows when I apply my makeup to keep them in place all day!

Cover Girl Eyeliner | I have literally used this exact product for the past ten years! When I was in college, I wanted to change up my look so one day I bought this eyeliner to try. Now I can't go without it! When my youngest daughter sees me without any makeup on she always tells me, "you need to put your eyes on, Mommy!" I've tried other eyeliners but this one is the best and the price is amazing.

Naked Palette | My husband purchased this palette for me for Christmas two years ago and he was in price shock because it's eye shadow and it is kind of expensive. But it is amazing and worth investing in! I own the original palette and the colors are seriously gorgeous! The eye shadow stays put all day long without using any type of primer beforehand. And like I said, I've had it for almost two years and I still haven't used it up. It lasts for so long and I use this product everyday.

Up & Up Cleansing Facial Wipes | I'm a tired, busy mom so anything that makes life easier at the end of the day is a must-have for me. I have tried so many makeup remover wipes and these are the best plus they are less than four dollars! I have super sensitive eyes and these don't irritate my eyes or skin at all, even for removing my eye makeup (eyeliner, shadow, and mascara).

Elf Blush and Bronzer | This combo is another one of my recent finds. I love the natural glow that this bronzer and blush gives you. This is another budget friendly find at around three dollars!

Rimmel Mascara | When it comes to mascara, I kind of love trying all of them. I love mascara! This is the one that I am currently using and I love it. Gives my lashes volume and lift.

Tula Discovery Kit | I am currently using this skincare kit that I won from a giveaway on Instagram. Now that I am in my thirties, skincare is super important to me. I am loving all of the products in this kit and how my skin feels!

Little Black Dress

Happy Thursday, friends! Last weekend, I wasn't feeling anything in my closet and I was struggling to get ready and get dressed. I have plenty of clothes in my closet but nothing felt right to me that day. Enter the little black dress. My little black swing dress is always my go-to outfit when I'm in a funk. It's so easy to style and so comfortable to wear. It's definitely one of my closet staples!

I styled it with my cognac wedges, mixed metal jewelry, and my vintage Dooney and Bourke crossbody bag that my mom passed down to me. I love the way cognac and black compliment each other! This was such an easy look and I plan to keep this dress in rotation for fall (p.s. Happy First Day of Fall, y'all) by adding a cozy cardigan and those over the knee boots that I recently added to my closet. My dress was super affordable and the quality is great for the price, too.

Add a little black dress to your closet for your "I don't have anything to wear" kind of days.
